Just to put a smile on a few faces.

The Academy smashed Utd at every age group up to U14s this weekend.

Not that results are the be all and end all at Academy level but it was great to see and hear,

Don`t like to do that esp as some levels have several games which combine. However suffice to say at the level I saw and the one I hear details on we were worthy winners.

Jose Angel Pozo interview, it's in Spanish for you Spanish-speakers. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7epGdu83hw&feature=player_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7epGdu8 ... r_embedded</a>

He turned 17 a few days ago and in that video he just talks about turning 17, family called him and wished him a happy birthday. Also goes on to talk about the tournament..etc. Typical stuff really.

I don't speak Spanish, I just picked up a few bits.

Manchester City could begin blooding a number of their exciting youngsters at Espanyol following a deal with the the La Liga side.

The bulging coffers and squad at the Etihad Stadium has stifled the progress of some of the club's emerging talent but a new partnership with Espanyol could be about to come to fruition.

Spanish paper Sport claims a number of City's rising stars like Abdul Razak and Denis Suarez could move to Spain on temporary deals in the summer to get more first-team action.

Dutch defender Rekik Karim, who is currently on a similar deal at Blackburn, has also been linked with a spell at Espanyol.

The partnership between the two sides is believed to have been in place since March 2011 but this summer could be the first time a mutually beneficial loan system is put in to action

Looks good this. Any promising Espanyol players we can get?

Yes. This. Just what we needed.

We sent Weiss there and he got over 30 appearances in total for them so they're willing to give kids a chance. They're skint like most of Spain so probably won't be spending anything this summer. Guidetti would walk into their team, their top goal scorer is a midfielder on 7, but I think we'll end the loans with him and utilise him. I'd prefer Rekik to stay in England as he's a defender but Razak and Suarez could really develop there if able to break into the team.

LC how has Pozo done, any ideas ?

Also I'd like to see Lopes go and play in Spain for a season.

Pozo is having a great season, top scorer for the reserves I think. He and Lopes both seem to be doing really well considering they're (barely) 17-year-olds playing for the U21s. Definitely two of our brightest prospects, wouldn't mind seeing either go out on loan early rather than end up stagnating in the U21s like Suarez has.
