George Evans - The Next Paul Lake perhaps?

Player Profile;

Born - 13/12/1994 in Stockport
Height - 6'0
Foot - Right
Position - Central Midfielder
International Honours - England Under 16 & 17 Caps
Supports - Manchester City
Other Hobbies - Cricket
Best Friend at City - Emyr Huws
Most like in the First team - Gareth Barry

He may seem abit gangly with his 6'0 frame and next to no muscle, but do not judge a book by its cover. George Evans is one of those central midfielders you love to have in your team; he has height to give him prescence, his technical abilities are second to none and he also loves the physical side of the game.

Whilst at City he has played defensive midfield, central midfield, attacking midfield, right back, centre back and right wing which shows that his reading of the game is superb being able to slot into many different positions and not look out of place. He does not have blistering pace, however he does have enough to get himself out of trouble should he ever need to.

He was recently a surprise call up to City's pre season tour of Austria, and again did not look out of place with the big boys, even though in one game he almost snapped an opposition player in half with a tackle!

He also has different forms of international experience, playing for the England Under 16's and 17's as a regular and was part of the squad that played in the 2011 Under 17 World Cup helping England to the quarter finals (along with fellow team mate Alex Henshall) Evans' recent performance with the EDS team have also earned him a call up the England Under 19's squad, which shows that he still is showing that potential.

What's next for George Evans?
Evans will be 18 in December and that is when players start itching for first team experience, whether it be with his current club or out on loan is not certain yet, maybe a Capital One Cup appearance is in the offing, but one thing is for certain George Evans will be a player to watch.

Where's this from Pughie?

It's my opinion not a copy and paste job I spent a good half an hour on that and some miserable bastards dont agree with me! ;)

Emyr Huws? An absolute powerhouse. Really coming through now after being injured for most of last season. Just the kind of game breaking player we need to develop. Seen him a few times this season and he's got everything. Balance, pace, strength, two footed and scores goals. Did well against the scousers despite having to play out of position. Best of the bunch........

Good luck on Monday Emyr!

Yes, it will be interesting to see how and where Wales play Emyr. He's been playing a holding role for the EDS and U 21's at City but I'd like to see him further up. He's powerful, difficult to shake off the ball and can finish. He can't be far off a full Wales cap surely? going by last night's dismal performance by the national side against Belgium.......

Bunn is returning to City after seriously injuring his knee for Crewe. :(

Could be cruciate damage but either way it looks like he will be out for months. Very bad for his development.

terrible news, feel for him.

Does anyone know what the latest time you can gain entry at Hyde for Thursday game against Fenerbache?

Have a feeling the NextGen win drought may end tomorrow at the 8th attempt. Fenerbahce like City finished bottom of their group in last year's NextGen and with the home advantage, this seems like the best chance for the EDS boys to register a win.
