The results do seem to be poor on the whole, but it seems that we are playing a lot younger guys 16/17 year olds than most of the other sides in the premier league reserve league anyway.

I've seen more than one person write that Txiki wants several EDS lads promoted to the first team squad next year - but I've not seen this written in any newspaper reports. Are there any grounds to these claims except predictions based on Txiki's wish for a positive youth culture at City? If three are promoted next season I'd guess Guidetti, Suarez, and Lopes? Or maybe Rekik? Razak is already in the first team squad, or has been, but rarely plays.

There is a quote somewhere (jus tryin to find it now) by one of Txikis old Barca boys stating that he wants 5 EDS players in the starting team lineup. Any one remember who it was?

Could still be complete gonards... not from the horses mouth n' all that.

It doesn't say new academy graduates.. so this could easily be Hart - Richards, and two exceptionel academy players, my bet is two of guidetti - lopes - pozo - rekik - ntcham suarez, depending on who actually makes the cut.

Fair point mate, would Hart class as Academy though?
Not got to any EDS games for a while so I've only seen Suarez and Guidetti play up close so i wouldn't have a clue about Lopes and Pozo. I always really thought Suarez would make it. Pains me when people say he's gone backwards cos he was such a feckin talent... i hope it's just boredom. Would be great for him to have a cracker against West Brom tomoz.

hmm, Academy probably not, i think your right :)
Yeah its a darned shame with Suarez, but you never no with footballers, sometimes they grab their chance and never look back(if they get one) and sometimes it just doesn't work out. :(

I'm pleased to say that Suarez' form has picked up and he has scored a number of goals in recent games.

I was one who identified that his form, and more importantly, his attitude seemed to have slipped in several EDS games that I went to see. He threw his arms in the air in frustration in a number of the games and I suggested that he should be given first team football somewhere else. Hopefully, his recent turn in form suggests that he may get an opportunity because, in his earlier games with us he looked a class act.

They need to give Suarez a first team chance now while he's in good form.

If they don't, then come next season he might not be a standout youth player, and with new signings coming in that could be it for him. Now or never

Bet they'd put more of a shift in than the lads who are already thinkin of pastures new.

absoloute disgrace that there is not even a youth team player on the bench, if i was suarez i would leave as there isnt a hope mancini will give the youngsters a chance.

My first post here so hope I don't get shouted down, but isn't Razak a youth player from the EDS? or is he too old for that group?

Also can see why he is put this squad out, he wants to finish second and needs to win.

I hope Suarez is patient, his time will come and if not at City then on loan somewhere.

At the moment at youth level overall from what I have seen, we are not strong enough, lately results have picked up but we need to get that right and an increase in competitive games.

We didn't do well again in the nextgen so lots to work on.

But def moving in the right direction.

Win tonight and a Spurs win tomorrow guarantees second, I think. No reason not to give younger lads a chance against Reading and Norwich, for me.
