That UEFA website is pretty spiffy by the way, very slick.

They're very good, the Premier League and City should learn.
Maybe City could do something similar but as for the rest of the PL I think most are still using the same template that we used to years ago, which means they're appalling to navigate and look dreadful.
Our present website is in a different league (so to speak) to the rest of the league (at least all the ones I've been too).

-- Wed Nov 27, 2013 5:39 pm --

3-0 Pozo (Man. City) scores!

I read the rules for this competition in the last round of fixtures and it said goal difference applies before head-to-head I'm pretty sure, but we're behind CSKA on the live table, so is it head-to-head after all?

Same as the big boys I think so head to head.

Just had a look at the Leverkusen vs rags match and Leverkusen had 6 yellows and a straight red (their goalie in the 46th minute which led to a pen).
The rags had a straight red in the 27th minute and 2 yellows which were to the same player unfortunately for him which led to his red card in the 95th minute. Sounds like it was tasty.

Don't know about anyone else who went to this game but I thought we were poor. There is no doubt Plzen were rubbish and we could have had a bunch of goals in the first 25 minutes so 2 nil at half time wasn't great. In fact sloppiness on our part gave them 2 chances just after we scored the first and most of their opportunities came from our sloppy play.

I felt Plzen were more at it in the 2nd half but maybe that was because they realised we weren't up to much especially in the middle of the park. Of course we could have scored more with more composure in the last 20 minutes as Plzen pushed on a bit or maybe tired.Bytyqi especially got into some great positions but made bad choices and generally messed up till the last one where basically hammered the ball across and Pozo somehow managed to turn the ball goalwards for it to trickle over the line.

With Pozo wide left ( I just don't see that as anything like his best position) and Bytyqi wide right the midfield was Glendon,Fofana and Bryan and there just wasn't enough quality and control there to create openings for me.Having said that Bryan made the first with a great early cross after he made in in to out run down the left. The value of a true left footed player.

Two nicely taken goals by Cole. The first was mainly right place right time for Bryan's first time cross and the 2nd showed decent feet as he shifted the ball from right to left foot before leaving the keeper motionless.

Yep,not a great game,i agree.

I thought Angelino was very good again, although none of our back four had much to do from a defensive point of view,he looks very assured and composed,he also has an excellent engine and solid physique,Denayer was also his usual commanding presence.

Fofana had a decent first half,a real powerhouse.I agree about Pozo, looks a little lost out wide.

Decent afternoon though but jeez Hyde is cold......!

Angelino is a very interesting prospect and especially so considering how young he is. He clearly loves to attack and looks quick as well and one or two sharp little interchanges with Pozo were very promising even though they didn't end up creating anything.Denayer did look good and moves well out of defence with the ball too but I want to see him against good teams to assess better.

Fofana I think has some great attributes and especially with runs at and behind defences.Powerful for sure but I fear his touch lets him down and he doesn't play with his head up enough.Hopefully that will come.I still like Pozo though and I think bit by bit he is getting back from his injury.Great that he scored no matter how it went in.

hmm, looks like i was right when i began to worry abit about qualifying. Bayern away definelty isn't a walkover, they showed that today!

Harry Bunn's joined Huddesfield. If he wasn't good enough for a mid table league 1 team how's he going to be good enough for a mid table Championship team?

Well he was considered 5th choice at Sheffield United, a side who's main attacking threat is a CB, so god know what he'll be doing at Huddersfield. United have no strikers who aren't useless, but he still couldn't even get near the team. He's got lower leagues written all over him I think
