I went to see the EDS lads play on Wednesday. It was an OK game, but difficult to spot the next superstar. City deserved the win, was impressed with Glendon in the first half, he is a lad that can spot a pass. Thought the 3 at the back in the second half for City were impressive and controlled the game. Someone on here mentioned Angelino, who is he? His name not on team sheet.

Just seen the highlights and his pass for Cole was almost identical to this one he did v Norwich, one two round the corner then slotted through.

Quick question for those more familiar with the academy; would it not be more efficient to sign elite level lads in the 16-18 range, English or otherwise, for a few million pounds, i.e. Marco Lopes, Lukaku, than pay 5-6 times that a few years out? If we signed any such players last summer I am unaware.

I know Blackburn went through a spell with a similar thought, producing Jones who we did bid big money when he was 16.

Pozo and Fofana (bought in Jan I think) were quite expensive for their age

Pozo is the most expensive youth player we have, fofana not nearly as expensive as Pozo. Pozo was the gem of Madrids youth team. He might have been the most expensive 16 year old transfer, that wouldnt surprise me at all :p

the Pozo fee is quite simply ridiculous, even if the majority of it depends on clauses. I thought we still paid about a million or more for Fofana didn't we? or maybe I just made that up

Hmm i'm not quite sure, but he came from lorient.
Anyways the fee for pozo was only some of it. After that comes housing for he and his family and so on :p

I think that Pozo fee is not ridiculous. He is real talented. Future City striker.

17. Goal for City!!! Maffeo crosses in for Ambrose who has his shot blocked but @AshSmithBrown follows in to finish it off. 1-0!

19. Goal for City!! @wistoubaby doubles the advantage, tucking the ball home at the near post after a magnificent cross from Angelino. 2-0!

City youth is crazy.
