Following on from t'other thread if it's ok this will be the thread used to list the up to date rumours, gossip and transfer news. The idea is to make it easily accessible as possible for all those lurkers who have only 5 mins or so to check because they are actually doing some proper work or they are using phone internet. Anyway i've offered to update the main page (this one) daily or even hourly so if one of the mods thinks this is a decent idea can it be stickied just for ease of finding. Cheers. (will delete all this once stickied)

Carlos Tevez

Sky Sports news earlier claimed a deal could be concluded later today but have no conceded it will be later in the week. Various media outlets have also stated it will happen later this week with City being hopefult it can be concluded in time to fly to South Africa on Wednesday.

Verdict : Nailed on

Samuel Eto'o

Media outlets are reporting we have pulled out following statement made on OS (friday). Been reports that Barcelona are trying to resurect the deal but from our point of view the deal is looking dead in the water.

Verdict : Unlikely

John Terry

Media reports suggest we may make another bid for the Chelsea skipper. Various media outlets reporting on Terry's silence since the bid became public knowledge. Was reported in NOTW amongst other papers that Terry had asked to speak with Man City. Doesn't appear to have been much movement today other than Terry's continiung silcence.

Verdict : 50/50 (ish)

Emmanuel Adebayor

Sky Sports reporting (this lunchtime) that we have entered into talks with Arsenal over the signing of Adebayor. Brian Swanson claims deal is still in early stages of negoatiations. Price been branded about seems to around £20m

Verdict : Likely

Joleon Lescott
The Independent reporting that we will make a move for a Lescott sometime in the near future. HappyBlue and spursmad321 claim this deal is all but finalised, pending Everton bringing in a replacement

Verdict : Likely

Lucio

Reports from Germany last week suggested we were close to signing the Brazilian captain. Reports since have suggested we aren't. Lucio claims he would be happy to stay in Germany but equally happy to begin a new challenge in Europe.

Verdict : Unlikely

Guti

Spanish media claiming Guti could be on his way to Coms. Not British media outlets seems to be following this story and given his age (33) i'd guess it's more speculation than anything. Unlikely unless we hear any different

Verdict : Very Unlikely.

Please remove Guti as it hardly qualifies as a rumour

Will probably be removed tomorrow. Didn't believe it myself but i did read it in one the Spanish Papers so only fair to include it with a very unlikely tag.

Fucking hope we don't go for him anyway. lol.

Re: The Official Transfer Update Thread - Mods please sticky :-)

didnt really know where to post this as i cant post new topics, when listenin to ssn it said after speaking to gary cook that he was rushing off to another meeting. i wonder if this is anything significant, i know with his job he will have a lot of meetings. but rushing to a meeting at this time might mean a possible transfer. we know thath hughes is keen to have most players signed before south africa, i am just wondering if this meeting is anything to do with adebayor and getting him signed by tomorrow.

just thought id mention it.
