The old days

I think you can appreciate many aspects of the present and also feel a certain nostalgia for the way (some) things used to be. I'm not convinced that they have to be mutually exclusive.

Microanalysis and financial expertise can be ignored. Choose the volume and content. Direct every conversation ti the football, and explain that Lidl value yogurt and Marks and Spencer luxury yogurt do the same job, in a capitalist market without upper limits, and has been doing so for some time. The Premier League and M&S wanted to maintain the status quo. Lidl brought out a luxury range. That's City. Busting the yogurt market and increasing our carbon footprint, one flight at a time. But, we do have 3 trees by the East Stand reception. Then, engage all conversations that are too modern with something City have done or our fans do, to wave away this modern-football-life-is-crappish talk... like a video of Aguero winning the title?
But are you happy with life???

Went last weekend, something was missing I wasnt excited.
The pre match silence
Than applause for Franny
Than the knee.

I want to just go to a football match, a minutes silence for one of ours than a match.

Perhaps it's me an FOC but that wasnt the right way to start a football match.

Will the derby match have a minutes silence for the middle east than followed by a minute applause for Charlton than take the knee. Cant take the knee after Garnacho racist tweet.
Than a minutes silence for another shooting in America

I want my football match back, a few beers a sing along and a laugh away from the real shit world we live in

Now dont get me wrong I'm living the dream and wouldnt want it any other way.

But I miss when football was just about what was played on the pitch.

Now every one is an accountant, a lawyer, a ref etc.

FFP bent as a nine bob note brought in to stop competition and protect the old school.

VAR again brought in to protect the old school and to effect games ( Rashford at old toilet for one )

Football press/media only cover 2 or 3 clubs, and again properly employed by American owned media outlets.

Tweeter, Facebook etc allow hatred to be passed around the world so quickly.

American owners wanting a closed shop league.

Fans seem to spend most of their time talking about things of the pitch.

I really fear for our game and deep down think we have seen the best and the American owners will slow destroy our game we loved as kids.

Anyone else miss the time football was simple and just a game between 22 players ?
Or am I suffering from rose tinted glasses ?
Football has moved on so much since then but as far as the match day experience and supporting City in general, I couldn’t agree more …!

All I'm interested in is the ninety minutes of football on the pitch. I watched the first half of the England women last night, clicked on the TV guide at kick off and noticed that the programme had been running for nigh on an hour. Yap, gobbery, punditry and general waffledom that adds next to nowt to the enjoyment of a game. And every game, it seems can't begin until some reference is made to some world event, minutes applause, minutes silence. My angst began when the premier league started that pile o' shite they call the fair play handshake, as though that will stop Jack or Bernardo being scythed to the ground.

Mind, it's the same in other sports. Swimming and athletics events can't begin until each athlete or swimmer has bounded into the arena accompanied by flashing lights and all manner of hullabaloo. Mind-numbing nonsense. I'd shovel it away.

Football games start by each team trotting out into their prefered half, the ref carries the ball to the centre spot, blows his whistle for a coin toss and we kick off! Oh, and ten mins for HT, and the games end at four fuckin' forty.

Ahhhhh the good old days : )
But I do miss the smells of bovril hotdogs stale beer and piss on a Saturday afternoon : ( .

By the way I am not being sarcastic...I really miss it
Still available on the concourse. Mind you, I have to take my own to the FAWSL games at the Joie. The food outlets only seem to cater for palates made to savour the culinary delights of Wilmslow 'n Knutsford.
