The one thing covid is really denying you most?

Swaledale: One side of my wife's family come from Reith. Sadly, the last visit was for a cousin's funeral.
Hawes: love walking up the Pennine way from Hadraw and back down to the only pub in England with its own waterfall.
Favourite area is Upper Wharfdale, love walking there, esp Buckden Pike. Lower down, fond of Burnsal (Red Lion), Appletreewick with Trollers Gill and the Craven Arms, Grassington woods.
In the west, Dentdale is pretty with both hard and easy walks. Howgills, if fit!
Plus......too many to talk about.
EDIT PS. The days of climbing the three peaks are sadly behind me now. My son recently did the madness of all three in one go. I was more sensible and used to do them one at a time.
Reeth is a cracking village. I used to fish the Swale near Marske Priory. Have stayed in a few nice places. Kings Arms in Askrigg when it was just a pub/hotel, Simonstone Hotel just outside Hawes, the Wensleydale Heiffer. The Swale is a magical river. I learned to fish on it and it holds some truly magical memories, particularly the river round Easby Abbey just outside Richmond. Just writing this makes me want to return, it’s about Five years since we visited. Hope we can enjoy a pint in one of these pubs in the not too distant future. Take care mate.
