I've just recalled when the Yanks took the brand name away from the Czechs who had been brewing their own excellent bier for hundreds of years. Talk about the law being an ass.

The Yanks bought the rights to brew it off the Czechs. You can buy the original over here but they have to call it Czechvar.
I might have that completely arse backwards.

I am not sure but l thought the Yanks won the rights to the name in court. Perhaps the selling was part of the settlement. I thought it is called Budvar.
It's all academic now but l look forward to re tasting the Czech version soon, just to refresh mind and body.

It is Budvar but they can't sell it over here as Budvar.

I didn't know whether it is dementia, beer deprivation or effects of the lockfown but l looked at that can and was puzzled. So l had an inspiration to look up Budvar and all became clear.
I should have read your words above the the pic first and saved myself some worrying about my brain functions;)
