Bat out of hell?Ooooh...not even close
Out over the N.Atlantic Tracks and heading home to Chicago.Where was you in the photo and where was you going?

What's the 787 like to fly? We went on one a few years back and it's totally different from a passengers point of view to anything else I've flown on.Out over the N.Atlantic Tracks and heading home to Chicago.
The 787 goes pretty quickly, so we often pass up other aircraft and get a decent view.
We are all at altitudes 1,000 feet apart and we offset upto 2 miles off the course to avoid any chance of a collision with oncoming traffic (never say never, but…never!) and sometimes to avoid their wake turbulence.
Here’s an American Airlines 777 from a few months ago…

That was taken by my First Officer, as it was on our right side.
Very comfortable. What's the 787 like to fly? We went on one a few years back and it's totally different from a passengers point of view to anything else I've flown on.
Wow thanks for that.Very comfortable.
It’s a very “clean” aircraft, so coming down and slowing down at the same time can be quite difficult.
The flight controls are smooth and make their own very small changes to the wing to help stabilize the aircraft in turbulence.
The aircraft is almost entirely electrical and has a very complicated, yet easy to understand electrical system. Uniquely, the air conditioning system does NOT tap air off the engine and uses fresh air and electric compressors, which helps make the high bypass turbofans even more efficient.
Having flown the Airbus A319/320 and the Boeing 727, 737, 747, 757, 767 and now the 787, I have to say it is the most sophisticated, comfortable and efficient aircraft I’ve flown. An A350 pilot might feel differently!
Thank you. Glad to help.Wow thanks for that.
Hearing a pilot say what you just said made the plane geek inside me jump up and down.
Safe flying sir.
Bat out of hell?

Thank you for all these pictures. Very interesting. How is it to live there? It does not make the impression to be full of happy shiny people. I don't think I saw anybody smile on those pictures.
Sounds like you're happy there. What do you do for a living and do you rent a house or something.![]()
sorry for the slow reply,
i was in the desert with some amazigh friends,
a free music festival way off-grid.
back in england now for a little while
(my mum needs some help with stuff)
and it strikes me that there aren't many happy shiny people here.
in fact, mate, are there any anywhere?
bear in mind that the photos i posted were taken covertly,
with a small hand-held james bond style camera.
i was attempting some sort of social commentary, that's all.
what i would say is...
in general, the moroccan locals have an inner contentedness,
they are inwardly very happy and calm,
so they've no need to walk around smiling all day,
they are at ease with things.
which is something i don't see back here in manchester.
all i see here is people staring at their phones to escape their mundanity and people getting angry about shit.
it's a wonderful place to live.
granted, where i am in essaouira is much more liberal than most places so pretty much anything goes.
there are plenty of foreigners living here,
but everyone, local or ex-pat, is incredibly friendly.
i'm 60 and being back in england briefly right now makes me realise just how happier i am in morocco.
it's not just that it is always sunny and never rains.
it's not that everything is so inexpensive.
it's that life is slower and calmer and easier.
and there's not a rag shirt in sight :)
i'm an artist, mate. a painter.Sounds like you're happy there. What do you do for a living and do you rent a house or something.
