The Pickle thread.

Love a good pickle, eggs, beans, Brussels, got some really nice pickled leek shoots that are great in a Bloody Mary. Pickled fish, okra, garlic etc.

Can you pickle a puffin?

 
Whenever my daughters go abroad they always know what to bring me back....pickles of all kinds. Latest being my youngest on a business trip......some lime pickle from Saudi Arabia, absolutely bloody gorgeous, and I'm running out.
We've hundreds of jars in the pantry but none like this. Having said that, the local Indian has some decent stuff, probably from Birmingham.
 
A friend had his appendix taken out when he was a teenager and had it preserved in a pickle jar in his bedroom. We never thought about eating it.

Each to their own, but I've never liked anything pickled, and pickled beetroot is, without question, the most horrendous and evil concoction known to humanity.

Salt and vinegar crisps, being the least favourite flavour, gives me hope the world hasn't entirely lost its marbles, and I'm not alone in detesting foods from the Devils kitchen.
 
Piccalilly with Stilton sandwich, make your forehead sweat like crazy.
I picked up a jar of pickled bologna recently, saving it for hunt camp, see who can win the rankest fart competition
 
Can you pickle a puffin?

You can pickle a Penguin.................chocolate goes a bit soft though :-(
