Some of the comments on here i can imagine being massively offensive to Catholics.

Would a subject about a Muslim leader being slagged off to this extent be allowed to continue, i doubt it.

The catholic church has a greater catalogue of abuse as it's the norm for many a European, however Islam is fast approacing, no doubt in 50 Years the extent of bacha will be realised then those who continually bury their heads in the sand can have a good moan about 'england........ With regard to the Pope, however, let me refer you to my post on last week's thread on the exact same subject:

I'm pleased to say that I've seen a lot of the old prejudices disappear in my lifetime, but who'd have thought that anti-Catholicism would survive for almost half a millennium - from the reign of Henry VIII into the electronic age?

There has also been anti-protestantism from the catholics for the same period. I remember years ago my father telling a priest to sling his hook when he knocked on our door asking why 'the big rascal' had not been in church and that he would be damned for marrying a protestant.
Any organisation that covers up kiddie fiddlers, bans priests from sex and supports unlimited procreation despite devastating consequences for some areas of the world needs to take a good look at itself. Intolerance as shown by catholicism and Islam is creating strife and division worldwide.
