The positive thread.

First Positive: Sane showed a real lot of promise today. Happy to run at players down the flank and also down the middle which should offer us a variation in the inside forward position to the one touch stuff of KDB and Silva. I think Pep stated on signing he could play about five different positions.

Second Positive: The system worked well once again. Against a top side we accomodated five offensive players (plus Navas) and still managed to always have options on the ball (arguably to be expected) and dominate possession of the ball (often winning the ball back early).

Third Positive: Forget the result if our finishing had been better and individual mistakes cut out defensively the actual performance, against a top side, was top notch. Difficult not to be excited about what is to come from this team

We are making more chances against teams that actually want to try and beat us. However, we still need to put those chances away.

I thought the touch lines were particularly white and straight today being positive.

The nets...

For me it has to be Sane, he showed flashes of quality. However I think he was wasted at wing back and I don't think he was comfortable with it either. I hope he can get a chance playing on the wing.

Thought the Chelsea players spent a long time on ground admiring the fantastic work our groundsman had made of cutting the grass!!

The boring naggy bloke who sits behind me in South Stand third tier gave it a miss yesterday.

Not watching the game and having to see a ref perform so badly, KDB miss an open net, the resulting turn around, and the debacle that followed, ( listening on radio was painful enough) not watching MOTD
