The pre match in stadium entertainment/build up is shocking

I only start fretting about things like this when we're sweeping all before us on the park. In the current circs I couldn't give a flying fuck about the pre-match/HT/post-match shit.

I have been to City Square once. I couldn't drink because I was on antibiotics, so I skipped the pub. After 10 minutes of that shite, I was desperate for a drink, but they don't sell beer, only fizzy pop! Never again.

As for the clapping hands and "C'mon City", put it on the next transatlantic flight and send it back to where it belongs, to the land of Mickey Mouse, Batman and the Three Stooges.

Bring back the marching bands before the game and at half time I say!

Pretty much everything about the club doesn't feel like City to me anymore. Obviously I'm pissed off after losing to that lot yesterday anyway but we just seem to be losing our soul and that hurts more than the defeat.

It's all very choreographed and structured. Well put together and professional but not really what most of us are interested in.

Would be happy not to hear any music or PA until the teams are announced. Let us create our own atmosphere.

The issue isn't that they have entertainment and a match day experience aimed at day drippers. The problem is that they dont have anything aimed at the majority of us who're men, who don't go to games with children.

Contrived. Contrived atmosphere. Contrived 'big club'.

They are sucking the life out of the club on every level. A complete detachment.

It's okay, though...just had another email they are screening the Bournemouth game live back to the Etihad.

Too many people taking the shilling.

Sums up how I feel mate, we have no fucking identity these days.

Copy and paste of another clubs template-thing is Barca nurtured there own identity over a fifteen year period with Cruyff at the helm of it all-we are shoehorning the same ideas into a 5 year frame time, Pep, Txiki and more than likely Soriano will be off hand in hand when Peps time is up-Soriano always said that managers are best over a three year period, what he didn't say is that applies to the DoF aswell.

They are just very well payed members of staff passing through the club, they dont have any affinity with City whatsoever.

Do many have selective memories here? we had clapping 'come on city' animations on the scoreboard at Maine Rd.

One of the most bizarre decisions was the one to present one of our all time legends Colin Bell with his award before the KIEV match in front of 25,000 empty seats (because everyone gets there late for these games)

Why didn't they save this for the Derby. Someone who really means something to the club being presented before a DERBY where everyone is in their seats and fired up.

Some of the people involved in the club are just clueless, from the top down.

Losing our soul ? Every other fucking supporter in the country say we have sold it,but I know exactly what you mean,it's a shambles, same old City,we will never ever shake that tag off I don't believe

City square is normally packed so does appeal to some. I loved it at first as it was different but like many, yesterday it finally fucked me right off.

Wheres the intesity? The intimedation factor? Its a derby againgst the enemy surley these inivative marketing people can come up with something different, especially for the big games to help get some supporters going.

The atmposphere inside didnt help, we need to all become ultras on a day like this/yesterday. Not violence but fucking giving it out with chants etc.
Remember the lights out and bluemoon... (I know this is an eve thing but it creates the mood).

Just did not feel like a derby yesterday

Totally agree with the OP and most of this thread. City Square I don't have strong opinions about either way, to be honest. I just walk through, don't hang around much.Whether people choose to hang out in it is their business. I think it's fine for them, if it suits.
But once you're in the ground and at your seat, it's different, you're a prisoner of this crap. The most disturbing thing about it, clearly, is that it places no trust in the people, i.e. us, to create the atmosphere. And I positively hate being bludgeoned at half time by music that, by definition, I haven't chosen, and It's a Knock Out-type activities that I couldn't give a toss about. You want to talk to your mate about the match so far. Or if you're not there with a mate, you make a mate out of the bloke next to you to talk about their and your take on the match. Or maybe just leaf through the programme and think about things so far. Every fucking matchgoing supporter knows this, from way back! Nathalie and Danny seem like a nice lass and lad, and they must know all this from being matchgoing blues as kids, surely?

The atmosphere was ok pre game and in the first ten mins but was killed by the goal and ended up with the rags having a good sing song all game at our expense.

Pellegrini's amateur management saw to that.
