Think this may well go back to the judges; he deviated off line slightly.
Greatest cyclist this country has produced. Points jersey winner in all 3 grand tours; world champion (road and track); monument winner; multiple stage winner across virtually every stage race; classics winner and greatest sprinter the world has ever seen, bar none.Where does Cav sit in terms of greats? Never really gets talked about like some of the others, but his stage win count is surely up there with the all time best. Never gets the recognition in this country either from the media really.

I think we need to see an Alaphillipe swashbuckling master class today. Saying that, it would be brilliant to see another Cav stage win.The longest stage for 21 years, its a monster length.
There is an intermediate sprint at 115km, it will be interesting to see if Cav goes for points, if he does he must fancy his chances of the Green Jersey.
It looks all over a day for the break though , especially with 2 big mountain stages over the weekend for the GC times to think about.
Van Der Poel is 6/1
Alaphillpe is 10/1
Van Aert 12/1
My pick today though is my old favourite Thomas De Gendt, it looks made for him and he is 20/1
