The Pro Road Cycling Thread

A more than worthy winner.
Him and Pog have got to be the greatest I think I’ve ever seen, in my lifetime anyway.

The last 15 years of pro cycling have been insane when you think you’ve seen it all another group come through, we had the Boonen era, cancellara, Sagan, Gilbert etc but this new breed are animals they don’t care about the old way of doing things it’s “I’m going to rip your legs off and who’s stopping me?”

Yep, agreed :-)

They just slipped in at the end of the broadcast I think, that both Pogacar and MVDP are due to line up against each other at Liege Baston Liege, the 4th of the 5 Monuments on 21st April.
Will be a fantastic match-up to watch.
I’m at our WSL game vs West Ham that afternoon but I’ll deffo be watching the recording later.

Before that though, we’ve got Amstel Gold, the only big one day race left in Holland, next Sunday afternoon.

Prefer LBL for that absolutely mental climb at the end and of course the SL stadium which takes right back to the late 70’s with the blues playing them. Me and my mate are off to Italy for the Giro again this year we’ve cherry picked the Adriatic for a couple of stages staying in Rimini and I’ve had to hire a Bianchi in Celeste blue to ride for a week.

To be honest, I have found the last two or three years of cycling to be the most boring. I have never known it to be so easy to predict winners of so many races. Could be my ever expanding wisdom but I doubt it :)

Ah that sounds brilliant trip pal - hope the weather stays nice and dry for you. (Btw!, isn’t Rimini the party capital of Italy?!)

Yes, the profile of LBL makes it really entertaining doesn’t it.

Before last weeks crashes, what would your 1,2,3 ‘easy to predict’ have be been for this summers TDF outcome, bearing in mind Remco, Pog, Rog and Jonas were all due to compete?
I ask because I would have found that impossible to predict at all.
