Next year, I reckon we organise a Bluemoon meet-up in Yorkshire. Anyone up for it?

I mentioned earlier in the thread that a good friend of mine who is City daft runs a bar in Harrogate where one of the stages finish. Im sure she would be delighted to have a load of Blues in her pub watching the action and nipping out for the finish :)

I would defo be up for it.

My top 5 prediction

1- Froome
2- Quintana
3 - Contador
4 - Porte
5 - Evans

Am planning a trek to Hawes for the Saturday, but would deffo be up for a Sunday afternoon doing the pub option then stepping out for the finish. Sunday is a Sheffield city centre finish; could get an early evening train back over here. Anyone tempted?

If anyone is look to book a day off, the best non-weekend day this year looks the final Thursday - double Alpe D'Huez

Cav took the British national title ahead of Stannard and Millar

Highlights tomorrow on ITV4 at 7pm

Hopefully it will be great to see the British jersey win on the Champs Elysee although Cav may be in green

Yep. TdF excitement beginning to build. For me, it's the best sporting event in the world - even better than the World Cup. Always end up having a day or two off work to watch a crucial mountain stage.

Hope we have a separate TdF thread though!

Definitely !!!
Actually , Hebdon Bridge loooks like the closete pass to Manch. however I'm up for any meet that invloves a bit of run out, cheering the riders through tghen a few beers

Did the same with mates in Belgium a couple of years back.. Tour of Flanders (amateur mid level sportive run out on the Saturday, including some of the horrendours steep cobbles) .... home to B&B then beers..
Ride out to a strategic cafe on the Sunday to see how it should be done...big screen in bar plus BBQ just outside Oodenaarde , a rush outside to watch the lads fly past then back in bar to watch the arrival plus loads more top belgian brews...

Party in Oodenaarde that night,, one of the boys fast asleep on the corridor floor uspstairs , still resplendent in his helmet and cleats !!

Well worth ctching up with on ITV player. The Mens race was class. Cav was brilliant.

I had intended going to the British Road Race but I got my weekends mixed up. Funnily enough I'd been at Glasgow Green the weekend before for The Stone Roses, but couldn't really afford the trip two weekends on the bounce.

Decent enough coverage from ITV though, really nice to see the women's races getting TV time too as they're every bit as entertaining.

Totally agree. Women's cycling is outstanding at the minute. Arminstead, Trott, King and Rowsell were Quality. While all track riders do lots of road work as part of their training schedules, the ability to perform at the top level in the velodrome and on the roads is quite remarkable and the latter three do this brilliantly.
The ITV coverage was really good. The race between Stannard, Miller and Cavendish was also superb. Appetite well and truly whetted.

So then Tour Of Poland eh! ;-)

Cant wait mate :)

Have you seen the Parcour for the Vuelta?

Wow

No, although I'd heard there are something like 13 mountain top finishes? Should be amazing, especially if all the Colombians turn up.
