I can think of a few other teams that personally I'd consider before Blackburn.

Everton (would cost a lot for new ground)
Newcastle (decent ground and support but out of the way)
Sunderland (decent ground and support but out of the way)
Villa
Tottenham (london based)

Some cheap options, if you've got cash to burn, want a team with some "istree" (some of them) and prepared to wait I'd even think of some of these:

One of the Sheffield clubs (dirt cheap but need to build squad)
Derby
Leeds
Nott's Forest
Brum
Crystal Palace

Leeds Utd would be the stand out amongst the lot. No problems developing the existing site. Right next to the motorway. Still able to bring a certain level of youth through and would cost a pittance to buy and only need a about 4 quality players to be certain of promotion. All the top clubs mentioned would cost a hell of a lot more and aside from the north east teams are in cul-de-sacs, when it comes to ground development. I would go for Leeds Utd everytime.

I would think Forest would be the one to be honest 2 times european cup winners, new stadium in the offing, decent fan base with a good ability to grow year on year, top night out for new players (lol)
My heart wants Crystal Palace to get it though, i have no good reason to why i like them other than lived near there for a year but desperately deserve some help, stadium is a hole but so much potential to redevelop, amazing youth set up that gets robbed on a yearly basis

would any investors be looking for a toy or for a mansour type of business model. if the latter there are not many teams who would fit the criteria. quite cheap, new / good ground, excellant travel links, land to develop etc

I must admit that a big four of
us
Sheff Wed
Notts Forest
and Derby fighting it out every season for the top honors does have a certain appeal.

Can they buy another club?
Now they have PSG?????

A Qatari owns PSG when people say the Qataris they mean the government investment group like us we are owned by Sheikh Mansour not Abu Dhabis investment fund ADUG

Erm, we are owned by ADUG, which is owned by Sheikh Mansour..I think you mean ADIA which is Abu Dhabis main sovereign wealth fund for general investments abroad.

As for Qatar you might find that the crownprince thru QSI control PSG, another Al-Thani owns Malaga.

Chances are if this lot are going for Blackburn they're not up for much actual investment. Blackburn are by far the cheapest way into the Premier League IIRC.

Wouldnt buy Blackburn if i was rich. Everton would be cheap you would think but when you add the stadium and paying out the debts on top of it they wont be that cheap.

Newcastle would be a very good club to buy, the fan base, stadium and training facility's are all already in place so there's already lots of potential to turn them into one of Europe's most powerful clubs. Much like what we were when Sheikh Mansour took charge here on the wonderful September's day.

I would love to see the Qatari's take over Newcastle

Another club that would be relatively cheap to buy at this moment is Birmingham

positives
has a large supporter base in it's home town
proximity to it's city's large airport
proximity to Heathrow
England's second city (London comes a very poor third)

Me too, they would have the funds to supply "Moonhead" with enough chips to keep him going for awhile.

(Sorry, Andy) ;)
