The Queen in hospital overnight

Let's try to keep the overly abusive stuff (both about HM and, maybe more importantly, other posters) out of this, please.
I would argue that abuse of a 95 year old should be first.
Do we have any sense of decency on this board ?
I always remember an ex soldier told me that if a hearse passed him he would stand to attention as a mark of respect. I asked what happens if it was a criminal he said it didn't matter. In death we are all the same.
Now I know the queen has not passed away but the lack of respect t shown is a disgrace. Don't get me wrong, the funny stuff is fine but some of the shite posted on here.........

Hope she makes a full recovery and is around for a few more years.

The problem is that palace spokesmen have a habit of downplaying any health concerns. For example I remember it being reported that Prince Philip was in good spirits and expecting to go back to Windsor Castle a day or two before he died.

I hope what they're saying this time about it just being precautions is correct.

Being in good spirits and good health aren’t the same thing and most people want to go home to die. Personally I’d rather they stick me on a syringe driver and load it up so I’m dribbling on my way out.

I love the Queen. She may not do "negotiations " on business deals for this country (that isn't her role, and it never was), but she is undoubtedly the best diplomat we have ever had, and continues to be so.
It will be an incredibly sad day when she does pass.

She definitely knows how to use royal patronage for the greater good and has probably forgotten more stuff than I’ll ever know. PMs come and go, she’s the one great constant.

My relationship with her is platonic, and although i know nothing about anything I reckon her funeral will be on the telly, and there will be outpouring of mourning across the planet

I'm sure the Beeb can squeeze it in between "Strictly", some shite celebrity cooking competition, Eastenders and A Question of Sport
I was living abroad when Senna died but was able to watch his funeral on Eurosport.

Instead of the "Live" in the top corner it had "Direct". I'm sure they could find a slot for her LIVE TV after News bunny.

They'll be nothing on TV other than the news of her death for a week and the funeral will be 6 hours long and a recording repeated within the same day.

The country will feel an unfamiliar place when she’s gone. I think the country will be poorer without her in it.

I think she’s a truly remarkable woman, notwithstanding the immense privilege she was born into. She’s definitely put a shift in.

I’m not an inveterate royalist, and I think there’s a case for abolition, or at least significant diminution, once she’s gone, but I think she’s definitely brought more positives than negatives to the Kingdom during the last 70 years, unlike many of her Prime Ministers.
