The real Chorlton

That's the St Marys I know.

Used to light candles in the Holy Name as a kid. I'm not a scouser though. Lots of Irish around there or at least there were. We were Irish descent.

Weymouth Street behind the Holy Name near Portsmouth Street.

Most Manc friends were born in Crumpsall. NMGH.

I was born at Withybush in Haverfordwest, South Wales. If we’re using the ruler rule then I’m a Swansea Jack.
I was born at home,Cranworth Street,C-on-M. grew up there, went to school there. It was poor but had a great community spirit.

I am from Gorton, well Chorlton-on-Medlock technically, bit everyone I knew growing up were born in St Marys, think anyone north of Collyhurst and Platting would mainly be born in Crumpsall anything below or east St Marys

I am from Newton Heath, and like many friends from there at the time, I was born in Beech Mount Jewish Maternity Hospital, Harpurhey.
(Catholic mum, CofE dad ... go figure already)

Dont remember that hospital but do remember visiting the Jewish Hospital in Cheetham Hill as a kid, would guess it closed late 80's.

I’m only from working class South Wales myself but ample proof you can make something of yourself if you work hard enough. Educated, well read, professional, home owner etc.
