Take the violence at the march, I pointed out that for an event of that size it was small potatoes and I was immediately accused of being an apologist for Robinson's thugs, go take a look at the statistics for Notting Hill Carnival, or am I being a racist for pointing that out, or it's a different kind of event, only a bigot would make that comparison and down the rabbit hole we go.

Why is that the liberal left thinks it's a smart idea to play up to the stereotype of the hive mind? There is more than one permissible way of seeing this, not every differing opinion automatically propels you to the racist sin bin for fuck sake!

Saying they have "legitimate concerns" didn't work either, did it?

I fully understand where you're coming from, but I think we need to stop pretending it's OK to march in support of violent racists. All it has achieved is legitimising racism in a way it hasn't been for probably 40 - 50 years.

A clear and consistent line from all leaders in society that racism is not acceptable has made a huge change in the country of that time. We're losing it overnight unless we wake up.

If you look at the start of some of these threads about the rise of the right, then its obvious he's one of those snowflakey left people and he got pelters from the same people who now like his posts.

We're in a world where people are being radicalised primarily by social media. Unfortunately in most cases, people just don't have the critical thinking skills to know what's real and what isn't. They're not able to identify those who are brainwashing them and using them for their own their financial or political gain.

I've seen it within my own family where someone will repeat to me word for word whatever the latest far right news piece is with zero self assessment on what the facts of the situation is. They'll go from never mentioning the EU in their life to being convinced we have to leave the EU to save the country, they'll go from liking women's football to being convinced women's football is being pushed to take over the men's, they'll go from never mentioning a trans person in their life to being convinced trans people are taking over, they'll go from wanting a covid vaccine to being convinced the vaccine has poisoned everyone - and this is just coming from a singular person.

We're also seeing views gradually getting more and more extreme. The move to a 'final solution' isn't one big leap - it's one step, and we're relentlessly marching up the stair case of fascism. The propaganda being pushed to the masses over these platforms will only intensify and lead to actions and statements which were unthinkable 20 years ago. The goal is to dehumanise those who are to be persecuted so that when the violence comes, people just shrug their shoulders and act like they deserve it.

The problem the way i see it - of the 110k that marched, there were probably around 50-60% (maybe more or less) there as racists. The rest as you say are concerned individuals who have been told immigrants (mainly brown/muslim) are:-
- reason you are skint
- reason you can't get a doctors appointment
- a threat to your women and children
- reason you can't get a job
- reason you can't get a house
- reason your benefits are cut
- reason schools are overcrowded and shit
- reason you can't get a hospital bed
etc etc etc

But if you look at it logically - the so called non whites who are born here or otherwise legally or whatever have all the same issues as above -

They have a slogan to protect your women and children - We should be protecting our woman and children from all abusers be it muslim or other races. All rapists, nonces abusers etc should be dealt with full stop. Why just peddle immigrant ones.
