The Russians are on their way...why am I not shocked.

I wonder if the household cavalry will repeat the charge of the light brigade

Half a league, half a league
half a league onward
all in the valley of death
rode the six hundred
forward the light brigade
charge for the guns he said
into the valley of death
rode the six hundred

Tennyson

A democratically elected president has been deposed. There's a good chance he would be re-elected at the next election too, had the coup not taken place. I find it quite disturbing that, as happened in Egypt, much of the West's media chooses to minimise or even ignore the democracy aspect of the story.

I doubt it as the household cavalry didn't charge........it was the light brigade :-)

It's not as clear cut as that though, just because a government is democratically elected, doesn't give them a mandate to do whatever they wish, against the will of it's people.

It's hard to know just from media reports and being on the outside of the country, and it's made even more complicated by the geographical splits in opinion (imagine Londoners overthrowing the UK parliament, without input from the rest of the country), however if a Government makes moves to quell the democratic rights of it's people (for example laws against protest, media control etc), then i'm not sure a popular uprising and overthrowing a Government is undemocratic, just because it was a democratically Government elected in the place.

They are potentially dangerous precedents, but it's not a black and white issue.

go on admit it, you fancy her don't you?!
Well, she has a certain coquettish charm , but I could never fancy her, because everywhere she goes there's fucking mither.
LOL did you see her when the floods were on, she was chasing a tall very handsome (so Mrs Undies said) Army Officer around a field, she wouldn't leave him alone he looked very sheepish and she looked like she had a wet gusset, she was gushing
Gushing? There are certain websites out there that charge good money for that. According to my mate.

Magnificent but not war just madness.
Cemented the fact that our men were the bravest of the brave though.

If I learn anything from this potential conflict, it's how quaint we are. They have Balaclava Bay and we have Cardigan Bay.

This is some serious shit really. No one wants full on war so it will blow over its just muscle flexing from the neveu USA wannabes
Yes we get it Putin your country has lots of Gas and you are a complete racist homophobic ****

I've never really had many dealings with Russians but on holiday, by all accounts they are worse than scousers.
Much worse, possibly even worse than Cockneys.
Seriously, I know you mustn't generalise, but I've never seen/met such an obnoxious group of people on holiday. Loud, racist, boorish, ill mannered and arrogant are some of their more tolerable qualities. It must only be those that go abroad, as I can't believe a whole race of people are like this, so my apologies to all the proper Russkies reading this.
