You think the US is going to accept a Russian invasion of Europe after repeated warnings to the contrary?
The United States, the biggest military that the world has ever seen, the only remaining superpower who have an extraordinary amount of people who believe in Pax Americana, who previously was a hair's breadth away from global annihilation against the Russians, will accept a Russian invasion and will allow Russia to do whatever it pleases?
You've confused rationality with international politics.
Yes I do think the US will back down and that's not being irrational at all it's being practical. The US population really wouldn't have the stomach for this kind of conflict.
After all they haven't attacked them at all in the cold war if you don't count the by proxy wars and subterfuge?
But this of course isn't all about the US backing down is it? It's also about diplomacy and Russia and the US making concessions to each other before they carve the disputed land up.
If you think Armageddon is coming in the shape of world war 3...all I can say is enjoy your pessimism i prefer a good healthy dose of optimism.
Madness. The US will absolutely never back down to the Russians over an invasion of Europe; not in a billion years. Let alone the UK, France, Germany, etc.
We're not talking about the Russians looking at the small South Ossetia region here, the Ukraine is part of the Europe, has 50 million people and borders 4 EU member nations.
You're not talking about optimism, you're talking about wilful ignorance. I never exactly thought you were the sharpest knife in the draw but thinking that everybody will be totally fine with a Russian takeover of the Ukraine is
buzzer levels of delusion.
