I don’t think the Scots are any more or less easily influenced than the English, to think one is more or less is arrogant of your own views being superior. Why should the respect stop there? She's the best leader of a political party in the UK, I'll concede at the moment it's a pretty low bar.
A lot of the English public think differently to me on a lot of things, Brexit, Boris Johnson, reading of publications like the Sun and Mail, supporting teams like United and Liverpool etc. I'd argue recent events in the English political climate is evidence that the English public are easily led, although it's not unique to England.
I'm married to a Scot, been there many times and never felt any hatred, never felt unwelcome nor uncomfortable.
You thinking there is something more sinister to it is possibly more evidence of being easily influenced?
The Scots are just centre left and the English, centre right… as a majority of course, not all. It’s an opinion and as long as you’re not letting it boil over into bigotry, then there’s no right or wrong there.
There’s been a ton of reasons not to respect sturgeon over the last 12-18 months but again, I’m English and don’t even vote in Scotland so it’s not my business.
Hopefully soon whoever gets voted into Westminster will be none of Scotland’s business.
