You do realise we traded with non EU countries before Brexit? Just checking.The problem with that is that 80% of Scotland's trade is with the rest of the UK so it would, on the face of it, make very little economic sense to damage the 80% in the hope that the increases in the other 20% will repair and even exceed the damage.
The produce we sell to England is the best stuff we have. Where else are you going to get it? We also buy a lot from you. Where else are you going to sell it? Japan? Nonsensical economic argument and the kind of kindergarten economics that convinced people Brexit would be a blast. We won’t be giving up anything, but our exports to the EU down astronomical levels will return. We will also have the levers to invest in our future, not manage on housekeeping.
