banners looked great, started off great, but the atmosphere was abmissal, really want it to work, was like a library at times tonight

happy we won, just dissapionted in the atmos

saying that would rather have the stand like that as it looked great and sounded great at first, hope it becomes a permanant thing

Well a 3rd minute goal in your most important game of the season so far does that I'm afraid. People can go on all they like about how loads of other teams would've been belting the songs out regardless, it's not true. In our position, with the football being played it didn't surprise me at all that nobody sang much.

shouldnt really matter going behind should just be supporting and getting behind the lads no matter what,

ended up with the kippax corner giving the fans where the normal are shit. to be fair they created no atmosphere.

wouldn't say abysmal, would have been much better had we scored first and won.

No, it does matter. Of course it matters, fans are human. When they're pissed off and down-heartened it's much harder to make them sing songs, it's very simple. Of COURSE it matters.

Watching that sort of football isn't going to get many going. Lets wait and see what it's like against someone like Bayern, Arsenal, Chelsea, rags?

I reckon they'll do it a few more times and see how it goes.

Just had a questionairre about it - asked if I'd like to see away fans in L3 and if I'd move closer/further away etc.

As an outsider looking in being sat in Colin Bell Level 2 at the south stand end, most people commented operation one end had improved the atmosphere. Not sure where those commenting sat, maybe if say the singers are spread out in the south stand and your in it, maybe the noise is diluted a bit. But outside it sounded much louder than usual.

maybe so, but going silent for most the game wont exactly help the players, not just the south stand, but the entire ground was silent for a period of time, there were moments it was loud, but what happened to getting behind the team when were losing?

It's not that I don't agree with you, it won't help the players. But I'm also not surprised. I know it from personal experience, at the risk of being shouted at by the better fans than me, I'm not always in the mood for a song if I'm in a wound up mood, whether the foul mood is to do with football or not!
