Madness, it only makes sense if the owner wants to spend at least 100 mill in this transfer window, if he doesnt they will go down for sure.

Absolutely mental decision. They looked nailed on to go down at the start of the season. Then when finally they find their feet, put a decent run of results together and climb the league. They sack him. Well I hope they go down now.

Shades of Mark Hughes' sacking and the outpouring of grief there was in the media for him. Southampton's owners have chosen a young progressive foreign coach who is very very highly regarded. Adkins did a superb job getting them to the PL but sometimes the disciplines you need to get promoted aren't necessarily the same ones you need to stay in the PL. Personally I hope and expect Pochettino will do very well there ...
