For someone who bought so brilliantly from overseas, I find it baffling that he spent such obscene money bringing in much more average players who had Premier League experience going for them.

Think he's an excellent manager on a budget. His success at Blackburn is why he got the City job and likewise his success at Fulham got him the QPR job. He's doing a cracking job at Stoke too.

The 18 million he wasted on Santa Cruz, the 25 million he was on Adebayor and letting Sturridge go make him clueless. I hate Hughes with a passion, not because he was a rag but because we went backwards after spending over
100 million thanks to him.

Tbh fair play to him I didn't think it would be possible to take a team that finished 9th spend 120 million and then finish 10th.

To be fair he inherited a pretty average team from Sven and made some great signings like Zabba De Jong and Vinny and Bellers, but I think Santa Cruz was is downfall I think the board lost all faith after that
