The Spark that created the fire! (Mark Hughes)

Re: Mark Hughes forever remembered

Now measure the player against the manager

Kompany was being played predominantly as a midfielder and zab was awful, what changed? Well roberto may of been a number of things but what can't be ignored is his influence on the pair, turned them both into world class players...

Also Kompany has been talked about since he was 16 as a potential superstar, it wasn't like clueless plucked him from obscurity....

No, Shirley can suck my fat one along with his spit the dog sidekick!!

The 18 million he wasted on Santa Cruz, the 25 million he was on Adebayor and letting Sturridge go make him clueless. I hate Hughes with a passion, not because he was a rag but because we went backwards after spending over
100 million thanks to him.

Is the correct answer. Some managers just shouldn't be trusted with a budget and he heads up the list. To think what could have been had we installed proper football people back then makes me wince.

so if Kompany had been talked about why did he join us and not Real, Barca or another?

Re: Mark Hughes forever remembered

I don't remeber Kompany playing that much under Hughes. He treated Robinho shockingly, the team should have been biilt round him not expect him to play as a wing back.

Zin..I do love you :)

Re: Mark Hughes forever remembered

To be honest, I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Hughes had nothing to do with those two signings, as they aren't remotely like his sort of players and he didn't seem to know what to do with them when he had them. And by what I mean by not his sort of signings, I mean they were both cheap, hadn't "proven" themselves in the PL and weren't shit

He had a very bad injury record and Hughes did indeed buy him and use him primarily as a midfielder.

Hughes is a clueless **** btw.
