And people will come from far and wide just to witness it.It cost over €2bn. Think it's fair to say there won't be many cheap tickets for events there and with the state of the outside of it, the only places that would have accepted that would have been Vegas and Blackpool

Vegas is what you make of it yourself, I’ve been a few times for different reasons, the last was because Mrs H had never been and wanted to see the place. We did just 4 nights and hardly had a gamble, there’s enough to see and do without handing your cash over to Casino’s.If it was anywhere (apart from Dubai) else, I’d love to go and see it as it does look quite a spectacle.

In the centre of a city I would agree, but it would have been perfect next to the Etihad, what a statement by the City of Manchester that would be.I agree with his sentements but not so much the wording :). something like this wont work in a lot of Cities. places like Vegas, Dubai etc but I couldn't see it places in the middle of London / Manchester

A few bands have stepped up their game for arenas. Metallica are definitely one, especially with their in the round performances which give a better view. When the ticket prices go up dramatically and they're getting 5x the audience to each show, I expect bands to put a bit more effort in than just a large screen, which a lot think they can get away with.As I say, depends, we saw Metallica at the Arena and they wouldn't have been able to do that show at the Apollo. the lighting rig alone was a big part of the experience at there last Arena gig in Manchester let alone the drone displays. No way you could do that at the Apollo.
The Kiss gig just wouldn't have worked there either. Loads of Pyrotechnics, stage raises, band members zip wiring over the crowd etc etc.
Some bands can do Arena's justice, others not.

Awful, garish tat, regardless of impressive engineering. Perfect for America or Dubai but, thankfully, Europe has more taste.
