The Spurs Squad

FeH: sorry, but I disagree on a number of points. Palacios is class. We should've signed him in Jan IMO, he is a real beast of a player with a great attitude, great engine, and no little skill. Modric is 'lightweight' in the sense that he is small, but he does not lack toughness.

And lastly, Peter Crouch is, and continues to be, serially underrated.

I agree on some of the other comments, but these days even big 4 squads, except for Chelsea, have some weakness in them.

I think they're overrated as always and people are just whacking off over them because they've had a good start and the press seem to love appy arry

Gomes is one of the worst keepers in the league. Cudicini ain't what he used to be and the fact gomes is in front of him says it all

Charlie is far too slow for the prem and a complete liability at right back. He's been found out on numerous occaisons and will continue to do so.

Woodgate and Dawson? Meh. Average

Ledley King is quality and they seem to be a different team with him in, but he'll only play a limited amount of games with him in the team

Assou-ekotto is shit I don't care how good a strike the goal against Liverpool was.

Lennon is a primitive player, a poor mans sweep. His form will fade

Palacios isn't bad, but isn't that good either. People are blowing smoke out of his arse but he isn't that great at all.

Modric is a quality footballer, but a bit lightweight and you can get at him. Keane hasn't been able to hit a cows arse with a banjo for a while. Defoe is a good player. Crouch and Pavlychenko are at the same level as a number of strikers in the prem (Bent, Yakubu, Saha, Johnson, Davies etc)

Spurs haven't got any top top talents in the same league as Robbie, Tevez, Ade, Gerrard, Fabregas, Drogba etc, they've just got a squad full of decent ish players IMO

Yiddo here.

Seriously? I assume you didn't see Gomes after Xmas or Assou Ekotto at all last season, and if you think Woodgate is an average player, then i can't really take the rest of your post seriously. Which is just as well, as you've rated Palacios as 'not that good'. I could carry on about your assessments of Lennon's form fading (cheers, Mystic Meg), or Modric being a lightweight, but i'll refrain....

With regards to the thread, on paper i believe we have a better squad that Liverpool but on the field it's a different story, and that's where it matters. I think we've had a better squad on paper than Liverpool for a few years, but they're still ten times the team we are. Without Gerrard and Torres, they'd struggle to get into the top 4, whereas the other 3 can afford to lose a couple of their star players, even Arsenal losing Fabregas & RVP for months last season didn't stop them.

I think we'll lose our next 2 games at home to Utd and away to Chelsea and it's how we bounce back from those 2 that will define our season.

I actually can't stand it when pundits who bum Spuds say this.

"Look at both benches, Spurs' is stronger."

"Spurs' squad is just as strong as Liverpool's"

Ahem, Spurs do not have the best striker in the world or Gerrard who get away with basically carrying Liverpool through games. Like TFEH said, Spurs might have good players on the bench and throughout the squad, but Liverpool have 3-4 world class players that are lightyears ahead of any Spurs players a.k.a Gerrard and Torres. I don't even like Liverpool but I have to stick up for them here. Fine, yeah, if Torres gets injured they're fooked up top unless N'Gog and Voronin become new people. No way are Tottenham better than Liverpool.

Cudicini is dog shit now anyway, he ain't played for 5 years. Ledley King is their best defender but he's as weak as a chocolate teapot. Palacios is a class player, but I honestly, really, really, do not rate him higher than De Jong or Barry. Lennon is never going to be anywhere near as good as SWP. He can only run past defenders, not take them on. His crossing is awful too. Assou-Ekotto I have seen quite a bit of but don't think he's in the top 5 left back's in the country so why is he suddenly amazing? Keane proved he couldn't cut it at a top team. Crouch will end up regretting the move to Tottenham due to lack of first team football and wont bang in a lot of goals. Defoe will eventually go through his shit spell. And that Russian plonker up front...Jesus Christ, he's shit.

They have a 'good' squad as they have quite good players as back up for their good players. Liverpool have not so good back up for their class players. We have a mix of both I feel which puts us in a very good position. Plus, we've got Adebayor!!

I'd rather be playing spurs every week than i would Liverpool, or, as much as it pains me to say it, United.
