Only if we had zero injuries all season, Foden doesn’t play like this season, Gundogan magically stops ageing and Bernardo, Doku, Grealish and Savio get more than 10 goals between them.

To me that graphic highlights just how much we do need signings, especially full backs and an attacking midfielder that can actually score.

Not a chance that squad wins the title.

Don't let these last few weeks of decent results fool you into thinking we are back.

This squad still needs massive surgery if we want to get back to the levels set a few years ago.

Recent as in the several we bought in Jan?

One of the most inform forwards in the world who's hit the ground running, three of the most highly coveted young defenders and a very solid and talented midfielder in Gonzalez.

Not sure how that's disappointing

Ortega (Wants number 1 spot and not happening here)
R. Lewis (Loan)
One of Stones, Ake or Akanji as we can't rely on 3 crocks
Walker ( Passed it)
KDB :( So sad.
Grealish (On his wages he should be playing more)
McAtee (Just can't see him commanding a spot)
Phillips (No comment)
Kovacic (I like but feel we can do better)

You have six overseas players coming in and only four leaving two of whom are goalkeepers. so whatever your fantasies, this is quite simply not possible.

No, more the last couple of summers when we were at our peak in reputation and silverware but didn’t really strengthen as well as we should have (apart from Erling).

That’s why we needed to buy in January, to address those errors. Marmoush looks to be a great signing, Gonzalez decent. Not sure about the two young defenders yet, let’s see how they progress.

We couldn't do anymore than we did in January either squad wise or availability. It was always going to be this summer we address to bigger issues.

I know. But the disappointment isn’t from January it’s from the summers where we’ve signed the likes of Phillips and Nunes even though we generate the second highest income in world football and have Pep and as close as any club can guarantee a trophy every season.

We should have aimed higher and done more to get better players. This season and the uncharacteristic splurge in January have proven that.

We went 1 summer too long with the squad, but finish top 5 and that's okay . One downish year after all the success of the last 8 years is okay.I've been over the dissapointment of this season for a while. Looking forward to the next chapter.Don't know hy Nunes gets lumped in with Phillips, they aren't remotely the same, think Nunes could stay as a very useful squad player.

Wouldn’t be loaning Rico. Agree on the keepers. Keep McAtee. Kev obviously leaving can only see one of the older midfielders and one of the more injury prone defenders leaving. I’d probably keep Ake. And sell Stones since we have Khusanov as the right footed CB. I honestly couldn’t put my finger on whether it’s Kovacic/Bernardo/Gundo who goes. I know Gundo has signed a new deal but it was by auto extension and I’m sure he could be let go if that was the direction the club wants to go in

For me:

Exits : Ederson, Ortega, Stones, Grealish, De Bruyne, Bernardo (maybe), Kovacic (maybe)

Ins: Costa, Cambiaso, Gibbs-White, Wirtz/Simons, another winger
