With Gibbs-White and a few more additions, I can well see us moving back to the inverting full back with something like:

Khusanov Dias Josko
Cambiaso Rodri
Foden MGW Wirtz Marmoush
Erling

All of a sudden, that’s a very strong team again.

We have known Txiki to be a shrewd negotiator who has given immense success to the club but as he leaves I am very excited to see what Viana does.

I always felt Txiki played quite safe in the market. Who we need to buy to strengthen the squad - The wily winger from Monaco or the starting RB from Spurs or you know that - the future Spanish BallonD'or winner from Atletico Madrid and guess what he has a release clause!

With Viana I predict some quite out of the box players to come in the future - The Uzbekistan defender from French league or the 18 year old defender from the Brazilian league. Maybe when it comes to signing our next winger - we may sign some Angolese kid plying his trade in Norwegian league rather than negotiating with Wolves for Cunha. A few will fail but the one's that succeed over here would be so fun to watch!

I'd keep Kovacic, Akanji and one of Stones/Ake for this season while the younger CBs get up to speed. I would prefer Gundogan to leave but if he's triggered his extension (as rumoured), then that looks unlikely too and in that case I suspect Bernardo may go.

KDB, Walker and Grealish are the most likely to leave with Ederson a distinct possibility. 2 of those are classed as HG I believe and thus would need to be replaced with other HG players. We're not going to bring in many overseas players unless we can move on some of our current ones.

Pretty sure Walker will leave too but as he and Grealish are HG, then 2 of our new signings would have to be HG as well if I understand correctly. The same with Stones/Ake I believe.

I think at least 4 or 5 will probably go (sale or on loan) to make room in the squad. Its just depends which list they are on as to whether they can be replaced with HG players or overseas players.

Lewis and O’Reilly.
Gonzalez and Bernardo or Kovacic as cover at the base of the midfield.
Bobb, Gundogan, Doku, McAtee, Nunes, Marmoush as cover across the 4.
Marmoush to play up top as needed.

Can’t be arsed working out numbers, home grown etc. If we need to sell, then maybe move on Kovacic. At a push, Nunes. Only because they don’t really suit that system.

McAtee is a talent, but if Pep prefers Bobb then his minutes are going to minimal. In which case, might be worth selling.

If Grealish is out and needs replacing with a HG player, Eze.

ATM we seem to be unable to sign the really world class players and I don’t know why because a few seasons ago I’d have put money on us getting anyone aoart from maybe the German players who always go to Bayern ( even sane ended up there ) . Gibbs white and Eze are good players but they are not proper elite world class players .

The City revamp is going to be decided on wages, you only have to look round Europe, to notice they are all gearing up to sanctions on wages,

Just let Grealish/Foden battle it out as the most attacking midfield. Wirtz is not coming and nothing else on the market is an improvment. We should focus our efforts on:

- allround midfielder that has quality on both ends (think current barella or pedri, or 18/19 Bernardo)

- right back (there are not options on the market that are realistic that I like, maybe we can look at a center back or midfielder with speed to convert)

- winger that can score and assist (rodrygo if the plan to play him on the left)

- goalkeeper (Joan Garcia/Chevalier)

- left back (cambiaso) if we have money over after the above signings
