I posted earlier, but I highly suspect Pep will prefer a back 4 with 1 wide fullback, with the other fullback staying back.

He seems to favour this for defensive stability, it also uses more of the players.

If we get Ait Nouri, as LB is more of a priority, thats more important since it lets Marmoush go inside left.

This means the RW can be a winger like Savio, Doku or Bobb, not requiring Nunes, instead Akanji or Khusanov can play RB but be in the back 3.

Other games we may see Nunes as the wide RB, and the winger on the left stays wide (Doku or Savio).

That's already 2 options for "the wide fullback", which is enough depth.

I just really like Vanderson and the double wide fullback system.

Wonder if he'll use the DM to split the CBs into the 3, if he gets 2 FBs he can let lose wide. The two 8s being running machines in front making the 3241.

All these Cherki and Reijnders links are great and all but I need to see more outgoings. People don’t understand that this rebuild depends on so many outgoings it’s not funny.

Savio and Khusonov are u21 rn but in 2 seasons they will be classed as Non Homegrown in the PL

Even in a best case scenario where all the old and ineffective players leave or the youngsters go on loan. It’s still tricky.

I’ve come to the conclusion that this job is acc way more complicated and bigger than I thought. It’s likely going to take a miracle.

Some of these positions have to be homegrown.
But most will be non homegrown.
Players like Akanji Ake Nunes will stay one more season then move on when Savio Khusonov get older and we would need another homegrown player.


UCL regards Savio, Khusonov, Echeverri etc all as non home grown. You have to have minimum 4 homegrown and locally trained players.

We acc have to sign MGW and one of our players to be signed should be homegrown to save us a lot of trouble.

A real shame, but he had the chance to impress and sadly couldn't. I was never sure what he would become, at EDS level he was superb but he was never going to be able to run the length of the pitch and bury chances the way he did then.

He has a bright future in the game still, and hope he stays at PL level.
