I think it is more less, because there are no players from the youth, sell-on clauses, etc.

January and this window showing what a colossal mistake was not to upgrade-refresh the squad last summer. Txiki and Pep both at fault big time. 5 players arrived in January (6 if we include Bah) and could another 5 this window if not more.

Sadly they tried to leave on a high while leaving us on a low . That’s also why I hope that Viana goes for some
Players regardless of pep thinks.
Deco already stated that there‘s players Barcelona will buy regardless of the coach since they follow a certain system.

Don’t give 2 fucks what anyone thinks about our spending as I’m sick of us trying every season to justify and be net spend champions . Last two season we’ve been more bothered about selling and look where it’s got us as we now have a major rebuild on our hands

In theory the 3 in the back with 1 attacking fullback makes sense. But in practice, it tends not to work well. Especially when we are not playing a team of similar talent.

We dominate the ball so much that all our players including the CBs are often in the opposition's half. In the end, better skilled players at all position, including at fullbacks is almost always the best option.

The FA Cup finals being a good example. The opposition almost always hits us on a counter, and since all our players generally tend to end up in the other half, ir really doesn't matter if we play 2 or 3 CB types.

The solution to me is just speed and technical ability. Another one of Nunes's talent is his recovery speed. If Nouri who's also quickish is added Nunes Gvardiol and Khusa. What wed have is 4 really quick defenders who can collectively slowdown fast breaks by other teams while the full backs significantly add to the offense where its most needed


And when we play real wingers like Savio and Doku we can use the inverted fullbacks ( Lewis/O'Reilly) or just invert Nunes and Nouri who are both technically capable of doing it.

One of our major concerns next season should be limiting Center Back touches on offense.

It was one of the key contributors to sluggish play this season.

The arsenal 1-1 was a prime example of this
It wasn’t until 10m to go that any of our midfielders had the intelligence to drop and take the ball from the CBs

I suspect the only change to what you posted is Echeverri and Reis loaned out, with Akanji and Nunes staying, keeping all numbers in tact. Although I suspect MGW isn't coming, keeping the squad at a more manageable 24.

I also see a nice succession strategy with Reis and Bah (on loan) coming in for Akanji and Ake at some point. This is balanced by Wharton coming in for Kova since Bah is not homegrown and Ake is.

The attackers are already pretty young, so I'm not entirely sure who Echeverri can come in for... maybe for 1 of Savio and Doku if one of them can't keep up with the likes Foden, Cherki, Marmoush and Bobb.

With the players being linked it looks like we are going with a 235 in possession with the full backs providing the width

Cherki , Marmoush , Bobb and Foden playing as inside forwards behind Haaland

A hardworking midfield three of Rodri , Nico , Reijnders, Gibbs white and whoever of the uncs that are still with us

Full backs would be Ait Nouri, Livramento , NOR & Nunes

Centre halves , any 2 from Ake , Gvardiol, Dias , Khusanov & Reis

Considering who we going for ( MGW, Reijnders) and who might join next season ( Wharton) I can’t see the Bernardo and Gundogan surviving summer unless we loan out several younger players which were bought for a high price.
Reis, Echeverri would be Girona bound for maybe 2 years I assume but that’s not possible until January. Feel like Viana needs to do everything to get „ rid of“ those guys.

Chelsea as an example is planning to sell 14 players. City should be able to lose 8 players.
KDB, Philips, Walker, McAtee, Stones, Grealish, , Gundogan, Bernardo. It’s a Long summer but thanks to a World Cup season it’s not impossible.

A lot seem to be saying that to make the squad numbers work for the players they want us to buy, but we've hardly seen them which may be why,but there is now way any of us can know that's the intention because non of us have seen enough of them, for all we know they could be looking really good in training and we have no intention of loaning them
My guess is they both feature in the CWC and no decision made until that's over.They might be loaned. or one of them might be, but they might just as easily not be and spaces in the squad used for them.
