Khusanov

Where Reis can do the John Stones role, I also think Nico G could do this, or you just have Nico G the DM.

It's a shame we have never tried to recreate that system.

Gvardiol aside, I don’t think those players are anywhere near as good though. At least not yet anyway.

They also have little to no experience of top flight football so I can’t see us picking that

True, it's young, inexperienced and untested.

But more of something I'd like to see in the future as Bah won't even be with us for atleast another year.

It's hard to argue against possibly the greatest living football manager, but sometimes Pep's decisions just defy logic.

I'm still not over the CL final against Chelsea, but it prepared me for the FA Cup defeat against Palace, as I knew as soon as I saw the line-up we'd lose.

Once in a final, we have one job to do. Win at all costs & by any means necessary. That's all the record books will show.
 
I can see us getting Livramento over the line this summer and then going for Braithwaite next summer. We need to make better use of those HG spots so that we can free up non HG by letting the likes of Akanji and Nunes go. There's no point in filling out the squad with the likes of Stones and Ake when they're going to be injured for half the season.

I would include MGW in the equation but I just don't see it getting done this summer and I don't think he'd be willing to wait a year for the deal to be done. It could mean we go after Wharton but I can't see Palace letting him go for cheap. Bernardo, Kovacic and Gundo could all free up spaces for better quality players. Bernardo and Gundo have been great players for the club its time to move on
 
Just been on the club’s official website to look at the full squad. We have 18 midfielders and just two fowards in Haaland and marmoush, seems bizarre to me.

It isn't right, We have Doku and Savio to start with.Grealish has never really played midfield either.

That’s pep for you mate Getting fucked off with this every midfield player and infact every player has to be great on the ball I mean let’s just get keepers who can save defenders who can defend and a striker who just puts the ball in the net .

good shout but I really do wish people can just leave the treble system in the past.

In my head. It was a one time thing. A moment in time where everything was working for us. It’s impossible to recreate. It relied on fullbacks that were comfortable against pacy wingers. Gvardiol ain’t a strong wide defender. Khusonov is fast but lacks the low centre of gravity that Ake had. The midfield duo of Rodri x Gundo can be replicated with Reinjders but we would t be able to play all 4 Foden Marmoush Haaland Cherki. The wingers are completely different from Grealish and Bernardo who weren’t the stars of the system they just had to hold width and keep possession so that KDB x Haaland could do their thing.

We simply can’t play this system because teams have found us out with it, and we can’t have CBs at FBs since they will do absolutely nothing in the attacking half which our wingers desperately need since Marmoush and Foden are inside forwards.


Maybe with Doku x Savio but I really think that system should just rest.
 
I reckon it could be a surprising and unpopular list of outgoings lol, am expecting most of the older players to stay. would love to be wrong.

Can see a world in where Savinho is sold. He's just not good enough. Can see Reiss going on loan, which considering it was reported we paid a few extra million to sign him before the CWC which Palmeiras wanted to keep him for, is odd.
 
I honestly think pep’s giving the old guard one last swansong along with himself, there’s just no links or articles in the media about any of them leaving, I’d love to be proven wrong infact you would think pep would love to bow out with one last title win
He must know they are finished at top level
Sure they’ll win a lot of games but they will also lose or draw a lot if we stick with Ake
Akanji Dias and Ederson and that suicidal high line without pace.
I’m convinced this is the plan hope to fuck I’m wrong if I’m right we can forget winning the league.
Maybe I’m overthinking it because we have one of the greatest managers in football
And I have to trust he knows what he’s doing.
 
Looking at the squad we have now, unless an unmissable opportunity turns up I honestly don’t think we’ll sign anyone else this summer.

Ideally we need a top RB, but if Livramento isn’t available then better to save the cash and stick with Nunes or Akanji there.

We’ll see some outgoings though; probably McAtee and maybe Gundogan, hopefully Lewis. Kovacic possibly.

Then we will be fighting for second or third again and have no chance in the champions league.
