The Squad planning thread

without being ruthless this coming summer we will be in the same place next year as this....a team in transition looking flat and average

We need to get rid of:

Sav - he has had plenty of time to impress...he has got worse
Reijnders - just not suited to this league....offers nothing
Marmoush - good player but doesnt fit
Ake - thanks and goodbye
Stones- thanks and goodbye
Rico Lewis - never ever was going to be good enough.

Get rid of Grealish on a permanent somewhere

Bernardo will probably leave and the fact that he has been at least one of more consistent performers this year makes that a concern in itself.

We must get a right back at very least to compete with Nunes...or ideally for Nunes to compete with (ie becomes the back up)
Quick assessment on Reis and whether he is ready to make the step up

The other concerning part is that the players Vianna seems to target dont look like Pep players at times..some of them are no where near techincal enough and he has also bought a couple of flakes in terms of mentality - Reijnders being the main one again.

We have also seemed to target players who are not world class - I know we cant have a whole squad of them but Haaland was the lst outfield palyer who falls anywhere near that bracket.....

Football transfer world has gone mad though with fees? A £50m player is now priced at £80-90m so imagine the price of world class players?

i can tell you that Reindeer will stay, we usually have the situation when player takes season to get used to Pep tactics

Marmoush has a chance to go, Barcelona are eyeing him

they will need, but they can always pull a lever

+ they most likely will sell someone like Araujo or Olmo and Lewandowski wages will be off

they will probably sign Alvarez, Osimhen or Marmoush

Anderson is B2B midfielder, not a controller like Rodri

stylisticly most similar to Rodri is Zubimendi, but no chance of getting him

maybe Guimaraes, Wharton or Stiller would be closest to that

as for youngsters, maybe Pavlovic, Bouaddi, Chema Andres

Arent the spanish papers saying they won't pay more than 40-45m for him.
I'm assuming we would be asking more than that for him?

Zubimendi is so overrated on the ball it’s ridiculous. He’s not that good on the ball but gets away with it because Rice and Eze can carry the ball.

Don think its tactically he struggles...its effort and application and physicality where he struggles.....technically a decent player but he doesnt seem interested in doing the hard/dirty work.

He just disappears in games even when we are ontop....pops us scores a goal sometimes and then disappears again...
