The Squad planning thread

But why would Marinakis even countenance selling him ahead of the World Cup, an event at which Anderson could shine and see his value soar? Similarly, given how much you squeezed out of Newcastle for Elanga and Tottenham for Johnson, your valuation appears somewhat deflated. Are other Forest supporters resigned to him leaving for that amount?

We've had our fill of club owners stringing us along through summers, so if he is our priority, it could happen early. However, given that the squads will have departed and the World Cup started before the window even opens this summer, perhaps not.
Maybe he's worried that Anderson, who hasn't had a break from playing for quite some time, will wilt in the stifling heat of the USA/Mexico and sustain an injury? I doubt that's the case but with Marianakis, it's hard to know what he's thinking most of the time.

Strong rumours that Forest are going to lose 2 out of 3 of our main players Anderson to City & Murillo who has possibly had his head turned by a bigger club.In the last month he has missed games which he never used to. With Boro now being out of the playoffs we can press forward with going for Hackney as Anderson replacement so would be in everyone's interest for deal to be sorted quickly.

I'd expect hot summer for City

Out
Stones - confirmed by City
Bernardo - confirmed by City
Kovacic - has no place in squad anymore, also needs game time
Ake - has no place in squad anymore, also needs game time
Lewis - has no place in squad anymore, needs game time, probably will be loaned out tho
Alleyne - WIl be out on loan again

players who may leave
Rodri - Real are eyeing him hard
Trafford - needs game time, imho him leaving would be a costly mistake for us, i don't think Big Don will stay long term here, probably will be loaned out
Reijnders - from what i've have read, City will sell him if an offer is received, apparently Juventus and Newcastle are eyeing him
Marmoush - needs game time, I doubt he is happy with his current role, also Barcelona are eyeing him

+ Rumored Pep departure

In

Anderson - this imho is practically in the bag
i prefer additional CM - Maza
young right back - Read/Kayode or someone similar
probably few young players - Monga, Conceição, Eduardo Pape
DM if Rodri leaves - Tonali/ Wharton, Maybe Tchouameni if Real offer him as a part of Rodri deal
2nd if Trafford leaves - My ideal choice in this case would be David Soria from Getafe on a free, would be solid 2nd choice gk
There's no chance there's this much movement.

By the way, congrats on staying up. It's a shame that you will likely lose both those players but I hope that the funds you receive will allow Forest to successfully reconstitute your squad.

There’s absolutely no chance Barcelona even know who Marmoush is, let alone eyeing him, mate.

Athletico Madrid will likely sign Nico Gonzalez this summer, but it's more likely to be the Argentinian one they already have on loan from Juventus. If they're negotiating with us over anyone, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Echeverri. They were one of his suitors when we originally landed him.

Season almost over. I’ve seen enough to know I’d be surprised if any of the below were still here next season:

Marmoush
Reijnders
Lewis

None are anywhere near the level.
Need a classy winger ,who could play both winger positions, a very good cm or even 2 and probably a full back or 2.

Much will depend on the effects of the World Cup and how we set up next season. With no Bernardo and Rodri less dependable than before, we may move towards a more expansive approach, which would suit Reijnders and Mermoush, Lewis less so. However, if it's to be a season of Rodri and Kovacic, with Haaland expecting 4,000+ minutes, then their talents would be wasted.

Marmoush and Nico G are the 2 most likely imo, think we can recoup most of their fee especially for Marmoush

Think Semenyo will be classed as a Haaland backup/partner then Marmoush and for whatever reason Pep has no faith in Nico G

Kovacic and Ake i expect to leave but can never be sure, think Pep rates both so with losing Bernardo and Stones for free they may stick around

Trafford probably goes unless we can convince him Donnarumma wants out in the next year

£60m Marmoush
£40m Nico G
£40m Trafford

Think they're the "big" sales

Ake, Grealish, Akanji, Kovacic probably goes but for "modest" fees

Thanks and congrats on yesterday. Not seen the match but people I know have seen it say Semenyo goal was pretty good. I am of an age where cup final day was special as along with the England v Scotland home international was the rare time you had live matches on tv. Forest don't need to go mad buying players a young midfielder with legs to replace Anderson and young forward to replace Wood . Next season I'm hopeful with us only playing 1 game a week and the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth and palace play possibly twice a week they could struggle. I dont see the 3 sides coming up being as good plus Leeds and Sunderland might struggle so I'm hopeful of pushing for top 10.

Gvardiol been offered to Madrid according to Spanish sources
