The Squad planning thread

Kroupi didn’t play as a central 9 much for Bournemouth mate he played a lot from left and number 10. I’d be prepared to have the conversation with Cherki and Foden and use them right wide at times rotating in and out of the 10. kroupi could cover for Haaland in the middle too as he will need a rest and usually misses 6 weeks a season with injury. I like Marmoush but would sell him and Savinho to get Kroupi in a heartbeat.

Controversial opinion - Doku and Semenyo aren’t good enough as the main first choice wide players to get us back for competing for the champions league in the next couple of years we need one more better than them both - not easy to come by I know and well aware most won’t like the view point.
Then this is a different conversation entirely. Kroupi has never been a wide player, even at Lorient he was predatory and scored most of his goals from the middle, and I'm just not sure that we could accommodate him and Haaland in the same team. We'd be back to the situation with Haaland and Alvarez.

Doku and Semenyo are certainly different to the likes of Grealish and Mahrez, but I wouldn't rush to judgement yet. Everything will now hinge on the midfield signings and the temp Maresca sets. If we sign real runners and he demands the ball be moved forward more quickly than Guardiola was comfortable with, then the wingers and Haaland will have more space. They'll also have to do more running as well, though, so the idea of Haaland managing 4,000 minutes becomes less sustainable. Maybe there will be room for a second striker after all.

You've been nailing your colours to the masts of HMS Read and then to HMS Palestra, but I've always said Porro is the most likely signing of the three. Proven in the League, knows Viana, and Spurs get Savinho in exchange. Won't be a universally popular signing, even if he comes as a World Cup winner, because for some 'supporters' he's just not good enough.

He might not come, of course, but the logic behind trying to sign Porro makes more sense than players new to the League. Imagine Nunes were seriously injured in the season opener and was out all season, like Sane was in 2019, then we'd be be up the creek without a Porro. We got by at right back last season by the skin of our teeth and by overplaying Nunes, but we can't run that risk again. We need to win the League next season, and Nunes/Porro with Ait-Nouri/O'Reilly gives us the best chance.

Palestra is my chosen one mate but the main reporting was Read? Sam Lee mentioning it again though makes me agree with you that Spurs sign Savinho and we basically do the same fee for Porto

If you’re the owners hovering over Viana’s shoulder, then you’re not going to be fully satisfied with a couple of domestic pots when PSG are hoisting back-to-back Champions Leagues. The League is imperative and, ideally, last four in the Champions League. To ensure that, we need to give Maresca the best opportunity to succeed and the least opportunity for excuses.

Well you've just named arguably the 2 best wingers in the league last year, and 2 wingers who probably crack the top 10 wingers in the world

Yea Doue, Kvara, Olise and Yamal are better but theyre unobtainable

Arsenal won the elague and almost won the League champions league with Saka and Trossard as their best wingers... taking Doku & Semenyo over both those 2 and over Diomande, Rogers, Barcola, Rodrygo and players that are available for the cool price of €100mil

Hence why I said champions league. Doku & Semenyo more than good enough to win the PL. more than good enough to be in the squad of a CL winning team. You can probably start one of them providing you have Haaland and one other better in the front 3.

Arsenal only got to the final because they play shite defensive football, we do not.
