Part of me thinks splashing the cash for Wharton would be worth it in case Rodri opts to not extend, but we'd still be short a 6/8 if Rodri does end up going. That position is the big question mark that needs to be answered after getting an effective right winger in.

Even players such as Wharton or Anderson, good as they appear, are young, inexperienced, and not fully ready to dominate physically in our team. We might still need to go for someone proven to bridge Rodri’s return/departure.

Where do we find someone more proven with quality? They’re all at elite teams, tied down with long contracts.
 
Think premier players who have played in the league for a few years are better option than some of the European players! Riejnders was one Italy’s leagues best players not stepped up yet hopefully he will soon!

Anderson Olise and a top right back we need no more project players

Perhaps. As I mentioned earlier, Paqueta is the kind of player with whom we could probably cut a deal. I’d much prefer Bouaddi and Smit, especially if Rodri will return, but were he not and we were to suffer another couple of League defeats before January, then bolstering with someone like him would make sense.

I’d rather keep Bob than Sav, I think he’ll come good. Also think stones will get a one year contract extension. Get a decent pacer right winger and a right back and a replacement for Rodri if he goes

Unfortunately I just don't see any signs of Bobb improving i hope I'm wrong but I'm not confident. Personally think Stones would rather leave and play weekly but I'd be happy to keep him. I'm worried regards Rodri I can definitely see him going :-( hopefully not tho.

Would keep both Bobb and Savinho as we’re well invested in fulfilling their potential. Stones is a difficult one. He’s not played a full League now since August and it would be hard to justify extending his contract if we want Reis and Khusanov to blossom.
 
Why did we think it was a good idea not to bid for Eze and offer the ineffective Savinho a new contract?

Imagine how much better we’d be if we’d sold him to Spurs and bought Eze. Or sold him and bought Semenyo.

What’s the point of a loan for Rico and Trafford?

Technical capabilities should be a given at this stage. Freakishly fast/strong/athletic is the difference maker on top of that imo.

If we are looking for a DM, Tonali would be my choice. He is getting better and better. Could be good also for Donnarumma to have another Italian in our team. Probably not a popular choice since we just got done over by the Geordie club. If we take Tonali from them they can bring Anderson back to his home club. Everyone happy.
 
One player solves our midfield issue and thats Hjulmand. Duel winning machine , physical and technical him and Nico G in our midfield. Hjulmand as the Bernardo replacement would give us control back.

He would be cheaper than Anderson and Viana knows him.

I'd take Tonali too. He would provide that blistering pace that we lack.
