The Squad planning thread

Considering we went into today's game without a single senior midfielder on the bench it would perhaps be a good idea to sign one. And a defender. And Semenyo. I'm not really sure how many squad registration spots we have available but considering we have no quality depth whatsoever there is plenty of passengers in this squad that should be moved (or unregistered) to make room if necessary.

Sorry I know its raw but I just dont agree

Pep had players he could use, Ait Nouri & Marmoush had injuries but they've been back long enough, they could have taken up some minutes. Lewis and Khusanov have been underused, even just coming off the bench

I'd argue the squad isnt far off

The fucking annoying thing is we've never had Nico and Rodri fit at the same time...like Rodri returns today which is amazing yet Nico is off.... if Nico was fit hed have come on at 60 minutes and helped out and we'd have won

Guehi and Semenyo will go a good way to fixing some of our issues, assuming Gvardiol and Dias are BOTH long term injures

We have as many midfielders and defenders as most other teams.
The injuries to Ake, Stones, Kovacic and Rodri haven't helped.
At the end of last season, we maybe should have been a bit more ruthless but that is not always possible.
Hindsight may say that we may have been better with Akanji and Grealish instead of some of the above.

Guehi, Anderson/Ederson, Semenyo at least. I'd also bring Grealish back because I'm not trusting any of our current wingers besides Doku to see games out.

Do we? Like actual midfielders, not wingers not LBs, RBs or CBs. Do we actually have enough midfielders? Foden, Reijnders and Cherki are not midfielders. Which leaves only one fit option. Arsenal have four

I know it was difficult but we just have spent a fortune it seems on players that the manager doesn’t really rate? Gonzalez I really wanted but even last season when Rodri was injured kovacic started at DM? Marmoush came in and done great but then gets the cold shoulder? Doku still didn’t score or assist enough and don’t get me started on Savinho!! Bernardo is running in treacle But is Pepsi boy now tha Gundo has gone and we just just are so static and boring it’s unreal.

We have had Rodri out long term, Kovacic out long term and now Nico G is out.
When we were stuck we could draft in Stones too.
I Know Pep doesn't want to do it but Nunes and O Reilly should be able to slip in if needed.

I know everyone hates him atm but Bernardo is a CM, he is and if he wasnt run into the ground after his 9th year under Pep you'd see the value he adds

Therefore we have 3, Rodri, Nico and Bernardo which isnt including Kovacic who obviously is a long term injury

We have been super unlucky, we finally get Rodri back and Nico gets injured for a random game, its just not falling for us

Arsenal had Saliba and Gabriel out and we caught up, now they have players return and we're losing them. Injuries happen, can't buy anyone you like ans have 30 senior players and not register some

Not sure anyone hates Bernie just think too much is being asked of him due to injuries
 
Did anyone really think the squad is good enough to win the league or CL?..we are a good bit off it,another huge summer needed.

I’m not having silva as a midfielder when he spent the first half playing RW and spent the other half running in treacle. We need midfielders not bodies and that’s what Silva and Reijnders are.

A second striker is a must also, Marmoosh can play there but lacks the natural instinct of a true striker. Just no competition/help for Haaland or options off the bench
 
Might really have to bring in a centre back now. Unless Khusanov and Ake are going to do it all by themselves.
