The Squad planning thread

If marmoush wants out, I'd look to bring in vlahovic. He is more similar to haaland in style so would be a good back up without us having to change the system much when he plays
 
Think we could have an entirely homegrown January/summer and improve the squad massively.

Forest are in the trenches with a relegation battle.

Some Forest ITKs reckon there is a release clause in his contract if they don't make a European spot this season.

Deffo a summer signing.

Marmoush puts a lot of energy into his games i think. If he was given a run of games maybe on the wing I think his goals & assists would improve.
 
When you consider how many positions in the squad seem to be at disarry right now it's actually shocking how we don't need someone at right back and it's totally due to matheus nunes. Guy is not dropping his level despite the chaos around him at the back. Hugely important
 
Where's the talk of marmoush wanting out? Last I saw on an aggregator he was wanting to stay and fight for his place.

If he gets a run of games, as seen last season when he signed, I think he'd be great alongside haaland.

Seems to be a bit of a physical specimen too. Not been rotated yet his energy levels and physicality are holding up.

That being said, Pep needs to do a better job of rotating. The last two matches show just why we need to be rotating more.
 
There has to be another CH brought in after Guehi, if he comes, as Nathan cannot play every game and will almost definitely pick up an injury. Although I can't see us splashing out on 3 players in the window, maybe bring in Bah (he's about to have his loan terminated, alledgeley) and see, if he's not being used as a makeweight in the Palace deal.

Pep squads remind me of an international team setup for the big tournaments like the World Cup

Agree with most of what you are saying, but last Jan was desperation signings, it worked we got CL and cheated out of the FA cup, we also will probably make a profit on the buys overall. Summer was about making the team competitive by reducing the age, it was never going to oust all the problems, there was simply too many. Full backs we probably have the best in the league, Al Nouri a LWB one of 3 that we looked at, not bedded in yet, O`Rielly an AM, but now an England LB ahead of Livramorte. Nunes an AM playing at RWB probably the best in the league, even with the mistakes , Kushanov a CB who is too naive there, but is going to be a monster at RB,, we do not need a full back, but one question i do ask every time someone says we do is, what happens to Nunes, where does he play, or are we just going to carry his wages like Phillips.
My buys this Jan,
Dadason a striker that does not increase our squad size.
Senenyo an attacking player that gives us threat. out Bobb and Savinho.
Branthwaite a CB that gives us height and flexibility, even if he is injured, out Grealish.
leaving us a free run at Guehi and/or Anderson in the summer.
The failings over the last 4 years will take a few years to rectify or nullify.

Feel like they missed the boat with Acheampong kid, back when he was available for 10m iirc and had some conflicts with the Chelsea board, he has high potential.

And my crazy idea is club should see how Chelsea end up this season, if they implode and miss out on European competitions, go and knock on Reece James's door to see if he's interested in jumping ship.

Chelsea`s business policy is about selling all their academy players, as it makes pure profit, he is still available but at a higher price, as for James he is shit now he has lost what pace he had.
 
Not impressed so far with our planning.

Looks like we react rather than plan.

Squad at breaking point & it looks like we are scrambling around.

We have several players that should be moved on by now & targets already in or in discussion with before this window.

We can not afford to go into 2 more games with this squad

Is Branwaite not often injured ? Do we want a stones again ?

How does: Dadason not add to the squad size what happens to Mamoush ? Who buys Savinho ?
