The Squad planning thread

Reijnders goes Morgan Rogers comes in as the replacement I’m guessing. If Reijnders doesn’t leave we don’t go for Rogers

Simon Bajkowski report today is very interesting says after Anderson right back will be priority but it was supposed to be young right back to come in, but the latest reports linking us to Porro which are true would be a switch in strategy going for ready made right back instead of potential

Villa fans will be thinking they should be pushing on and actually winning the League, not selling us one of their best players. Trusted source or not, these guys all have to peddle pap to remain relevant.

Porro is 26 so we would get our moneys worth .

Sounds as if he’s just reading the discussion in here and then reporting it as sourced. Surely not…

Villa just won the Europe league , got top 4 as well and still have to sell these rules need looking into

"Aston Villa will still need to sell players this summer to comply with Premier League and UEFA Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), despite securing Champions League qualification.

Villa reported heavy losses in recent years and must tread a financial tightrope. While Champions League football drastically boosts revenue, the club still needs to generate funds to balance out their squad costs and adhere to strict spending limits"

Villa would be looking for substantial money, and we would be looking to pay substantially less and palm off players (Grealish?). Given Anderson is our priority, it’s hard to see Rogers coming, too.

Rules need to be changed.

The likes of Rogers and Porro don’t really excite me tbh. Rogers thrives in a counter attacking side and Maresca is like Pep, controlled possession, high lines, try and get the wingers 1v1 opportunities. And Porro is just crap isn’t he.

Anderson makes loads of sense to me for the way we play.

What I don’t really understand with Vianna is him almost exclusively signing players since he’s come in that do not suit Pep and now Maresca’s brand of football.

If that’s the plan then bring a manager in whose likes the team to have a bit of space to run into, it’s that or actually sign players that suit, what is now a 10 years old entrenched footballing philosophy at the club.

Wanted to keep Reijnders and wasn’t thinking about Roger’s.

However if we can get our money back on Reijnders.

Stop Roger’s going to Arsenal.

Crucial it helps with home grown / Club trained which will I think be an issue.

If on top of that Aston Villa want Marmoush then it also helps.
