The Squad planning thread

2CM, 1 RB, maybe a new 2nd goalkeeper. Wouldn’t expect more than that. The club scores enough goals and has enough threats. Need help for nunes only and 2 new midfielders or 3 if reijnders leaves.

Maza, Anderson( not really a fan of him) and Sangare would be good replacements for : Bernardo, Kovacic, Gonzalez and maybe Reijnders

Will certainly be interesting to see how the WC changes the window.

Very few deals taking place until the end of next month, with plenty of speculation and discussion in the meantime, fuelled by performances in the tournament itself?

Could be a long summer for a few on here!
 
I’d sell Rodri this summer as we start this new era, can’t be fucking arsed seeing him flirting with leaving! Josko literally was talking positively about being back etc and saying we yet Rodri just doesn’t talk like that? No rest this summer for him either and probably more niggles early next season so I’m in the get Tonali alongside Anderson camp and rebuild from day one with Maresca

One of the biggest issues Chelsea have is they removed all their experienced players. We’ve lost Bernardo and Stones and likely to lose Kovacic and Ake, there’s rumours about Dias. Add Rodri to that list and that’s most of our serial trophy winners gone.
 
Vitor Reis being integrated into the first team squad next season according to reports from Brazil. So which centre back is leaving because I don't see us having 5 centre backs next season in the squad.

Inbound City head coach Enzo Maresca worked closely with Cucurella at Chelsea and sources close to both said they had a good relationship, while City were previously interested in the defender before his move to Chelsea. City, though, have indicated they are not currently in the market for a left-back. Nico O’Reilly has shone for them in that position — and any first-team arrival would have to compete with him for a spot, if he kept playing in that role, rather than his natural midfield berth. A person with knowledge of Maresca’s outlook told The Athletic that he would be interested in an addition at full-back this summer.

True but let’s be honest, we were all jealous at the point and signings they made at the time? Maybe just the manager wasn’t strong enough to man manager that group? Arsenal have made some really good and smart signings and I expect that to continue

We did going into last season. Problem is we’d now have 6 unless Ake departs.

I was never jealous thought we signed a better left back wasn’t too surprised Cherki was better than Wirtz, though Wirtx might get better, signing Ekitike and Isak seemed pointless especially when they left themselves short at centre back. Extending Van Dijk snd Salah was a mistake. We’ll see what arsenal do but teally not our problem, only bothered what we do.
Every summer we hear how others have done better, usually they haven’t

Arteta went to Arsenal and implemented everything he learnt from his time with us and advised them of how we doing things etc imo and is now tweaking it with his more physical approach
