Yes, if you look at last years full squad there were a fair few that hardly played. Lewis, Kovacic, Savinho

Given unease around the whole Rodri situation and given what you’ve pointed out re Trafford and Lewis. There’s a lad called Dada Mascoll who plays the 6 position in our academy. Home grown and a beast. Was beset by injuries last season and a half but is a composed lad and knows how we play. Still got hopes for him personally and I see he has trained with the first team recently.

Didnt he just sign a new contract a few months ago? Around the same time was a few reports we wanted him but everyone said it was just his agent.

Maybe something in it, be interesting to see if they put in a release clause to give them security. Could do a lot worse.

Shame Bobb didnt work out he got good chances beginning of last season.

Bobb got chances but not what I would consider good. He played well at Wolverhampton, when we collectively performed well, but he was poor against Tottenham and then Brighton, and his work rate out of possession was not of the standard. We were still a recovering mess. Lad was ultimately short of confidence and fitness and I hope the move works, albeit the coming changes at Fulham won't help.

Akliouche is 24 and has three solid Ligue 1 seasons under his belt, no concerning injuries either. That said, he's still a young player and will need to be patient, so if I were advising him, I'd say by all means come, but come with ear plugs and God forfend don't read Bluemoan, as many on here have the patience of a gnat.

Lille just appointed Carlo Ancelotti's son Davide as their manager yesterday, and the brief seems to be promote from their talented academy. Reading their fan forum, they seem to think their big sales this summer will be the central midfielders Mukau and Bouadi. However, Liverpool are apparently pushing strongly for Fernandez-Pardo. Don't shoot the messenger.

That’s the problem isn’t it? If Rodri is staying but say Gonzalez, Bernardo and Kovacic are going then I’d be bringing in Ibrahim Maza asap and Pardo for Savinho

Surely Villa would want around £80.

I guess Rogers could play the Bernardo Silva role in terms of his workrate off the left.

If we somehow managed to secure Gusto, Rogers and Anderson we'll be absolutely flying for next year.
