I like The City of Manchester Stadium, there's a civic pride in it and it cocks a snook in United's direction.

Also quite like Eastlands too, it invokes a bleak, grey, post-industrial Joy Division-esque urban milieu, which befits that area of East Manchester. Or something.

Anyone who calls it COMS, Comstad, or Blue Camp should be shot at dawn.

Every time COMS is mentioned on here or elsewhere, it kind of sounds wrong. So does 'Eastlands'.

Think of the great teams in Europe: The San Siro; The Bernabeu; The Nou Camp. These are names that inspire a certain awe. Even 'The Emirates' sounds good.

COMS or Eastlands doesn't sound that great. We need a The............. name for the stadium. We are moving into a great new era and our stadium should have an awesome name.

My suggestion: The Mercer Stadium.

I think we need something like that.
