The 'Stamp'...

there was fuck all difference between cahill's studs up challenge which only resulted in a yellow & torres' studs up challenge which resulted in a red. this was the only one of everton's 5 yellows that motd showed & all hansen tried to do was to hang the victim. this was an absolutely disgraceful performance from a biased, washed up pundit with no credibility whatsoever.

Howard Webb won't change his mind - it would be a sign of weakness by the best referee in the league.

I doubt if it will be reviewed, unless Hanson heads the review panel. Cahill went in with both feet, so what do they expect to happen? Kompany levitates above the ground in order to avoid contact?

Quick question; is it me or is Vinny attempting to plant his foot in his natural stride to enable himself to shield the ball out of play?? Cahill's foot is merely in that space, right??

If agreed, then why are the 'pundits' trying to make it out to be more malicious than it was??
Just watched it again on MotD and I'm sure that Hansen was struggling to keep a straight face when he said Kompany could have got a red card.

.......and no mention of the attempts to kick Silva out of the game.

you are correct, vinny just isn't the type of player to stamp on a player.

its city though so any negative will do, even if its a total lie.

Maybe Moyes was trying to deflect the attention from their systematic fouling of Silva. They took it in turn to get booked.

Vinny didn't 'stamp'. A stamp is a pre determined action where you know what you're doing. But I do think Vinny put his studs into Cahill as the situation happened, without it being pre determined. Cahill went in rashly, Vinny didn't stamp on him but he didn't not put his studs into him. Does that make sense? I think both should have been booked or sent off.

This doesn't mean I think it was a dirty action by Vinny. But it wasn't good.

It also has no baring on the numerous very poor tackles and elbows from Everton players over 90minutes.

-- Sun Sep 25, 2011 8:50 am --

Webb isn't the best ref in the league. He gets a lot of big decisions wrong.

I was looking at their faces during their summary, they looked totally disappointed in the knowledge that the usual dropping of points did not occur,in fact more like gutted than disappointed, I want to see them with faces like professional gurners by the end of the season!

It's not a case of that. He saw the incident and gave Cahill a yellow. According to the rules, this means that no retrospective action can be taken.

The incident was instigated by Cahill's rash two foot tackle attempt on Kompany.

He could have got a red card for that.

If he hadn't have gone in for the challenge he would not have gotten injured.
