The Stand Up If You Love City Unofficial BM Campaign

It's 109 and 119 the letter refers to and only the people in those blocks are getting letters!.

Thanks for clearing that up. Glad it's not 110. Didn't think it was even though I let off a bit of steam. Did say it was probably 109. Defo looked an issue/problem last season in there.

Still.

I sincerely hope Mr Fletcher and City via MCC's licensing authority don't try and quash the singing sections and the atmosphere. Leave us alone and let us get behind the lads on the pitch. That's all we want to do, as well as seeing City winning at home and getting 3 points.

If it ain't broke don't try and fix it. Or f*** it up. Thank you.

I'm in 109, just opened the letter this morning.

I don't have a problem with standing, as I prefer it, but I'm not gonna moan if I get told to sit down.

Decent bunch around me. Its all good.
If the majority of 109 stands, then they can't really eject everyone.

Football is for standing up, shouting and singing your head off, bouncing and ballooning about, having a laugh, watching football while you get yourself get involved in the game. Standing creates a buzz around you and makes you all feel together as one.

84569 fans cram into Maine Road, all standing.

The Kippax Stand, 30000 people in one stand, the biggest and best stand in Europe. City are now still reknowned for this stand and it was knocked down nearly 20 years ago. Everyone wants to be part of it. People are skint, unemployment is high, yet Manchester crams into the Kippax because you have to be part of it.

Then just as we get a bit of buzz back into football.

Just as we start to enjoy ourselves at City again, even though it's not even a tenth as much as it should be.

MCC, GMP and City tell us we can't do this!

Quite frankly it stinks! I almost wish I were German.

Of course football is for families.

Why would City want to attract a single, singing fan when they can bank on a family of four spending four times as much at the food and drink stalls. And of course, little Alan and Alana Poznan are going to want the new home kit (the already got the away kit when it was strategically released two months prior).

Fact is, the singing section usually get bladdered pre match and thus aren't contributing their share to the coffers.

Sorry boys.

I sit in 109 and got a letter today about it.

Every supporter in 109 stands up as far as I am aware so I am not too sure how this could effect other supporters 'match day experience?' Plus, I enjoy standing up.It releases nervous energy and somehow adds to the atmosphere.

I will be very disappointed if we have to resort to sitting down for the whole 90 minutes again.

This is spot on i think.. if you are over 35 get pissed and don't spend much on official merchandise then frankly you'll do for now but you're due a replacement from somewhere posher with at least 1 but pref 3/4 little city fans who being part of the xbox ipod generation will buy mountains of city related shite as we become more and more successful. So suck up your city pint and your city pie , browsing city news via the latest gizmo (ar code or whatever it is) and purchasing city everything from kit to car insurance .. coming soon to a stadium to enhance your experience shortly.. and remember please remain seated and keep your hands and arms inside the car at all times...

If it is the council then they have the power to revoke the safety certificate or even close the blocks by reducing the capacity the club are allowed. The letter would state this as the reason rather than a please don't.

Join the South Stand, it's much better.
I've gone and stood over in the East/South Corner, and walked over to the South Stand. Even relocate for some cup games over there. It's okay when you're in it all, part of it. It does seem quite loud and at times bouncing.

But I see the bigger picture when I come away from it and go back to 105. I see and hear that even on your best and loudest days neither area are particularly loud or bouncing. I see that 1300 one side of the away fans and 1800 the other wide of the away fans is a proper lame effort. It's almost laughable. It honestly is, for me, a bit embarrassing. I don't mean to 'call' you guys or owt, but you're not worth being part of. I'd rather keep my fantastic view and until there is a vocal stand worth being part of I'll remain in that view. Plus if I just give in and go and join you guys anyway, I'd lose sight of the bigger picture, all my numerous letters to the club will be a waste of time. I'd just be giving in to the bores and giving them what they want.

It's the very worst thing about Manchester City Football Club.

Blackburn and Leeds both have vocal stands that hold 7000, Sheff Utd and Liverpool's hold 12000, Villa's Holt End holds 14500, hate them as we do the Stretford End at Old Traffird holds 18000+, Borussia Dortmund's die Südtribüne holds 24000 and The Kippax held 30000.

I don't get it! I thought we were aiming to be the best football club, not just team, but CLUB, in the world. 3000 seats set aside for vocal fans, now reduced as MCC GMP and City don't want 109 standing so are telling 110 to sit down. It's a fucking disgrace in my opinion!

Nice post. I would love to have a kippax at eastlands but I don't see how it could be done
