The Stand Up If You Love City Unofficial BM Campaign

Not this shit again. People getting thrown out for resisting. People standing up for as long as can be justified and sitting down just as the stewards are losing all patience. People chanting stand up if you love City as soon as we are sat down... I thought we'd resolved this all this bollocks last season when they seemed to give up after about five home games.

TBH I think the more people who stand and sing gets other people near doing the same. I'm up in the east stand level 3, 308 and its to quite up there I wanted to move as some times its dead and you feel like a twat standing and singing on your own..Its not like the old kippax at maine road we left a lot of the noise and banter at maine road..Hope we get it back soon I really do...

You know what i wouldn't mind it the whole ground was persitantly standing, but if left to our own devices the standing stops after block 109, just leave us to it, i'd love them try to kick out a full block, they tried this crap last season for the first 10 games or so, constantly trying to sit 109-110 down a few got kicked out absolute JOKE

I typed the letter up from the letter received on friday morning!!! If I new how to post a scanned copy on here I would of put it on!!!! I am sorry I made a few spelling mistakes!!!! fucking shoot me!!! ''but it is defo genuine'' but I was so fucking wound up!!! I contacted the club on Saturday Morning and got fucking nowhere as I AM IN 110!!!! and all they could say was that due to my seat being an isle seat next to the 109 block then that was the reason!!!! but having read the letter a number of times, the letter only refers to 111 being included to the SOUTH STAND as a singing section, so unless I am wrong that would mean that although most people in 110 appear to have not received a letter, Fletcher and City are still saying that you should not be standing in block 110, the letter could be a test the water and see what happens type of situation!!!!!!!!!!! STILL FUCKING PISSED OFF ALL THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!

Football is for standing up, shouting and singing your head off, bouncing and ballooning about, having a laugh, watching football while you get yourself get involved in the game. Standing creates a buzz around you and makes you all feel together as one.

84569 fans cram into Maine Road, all standing.

The Kippax Stand, 30000 people in one stand, the biggest and best stand in Europe. City are now still reknowned for this stand and it was knocked down nearly 20 years ago. Everyone wants to be part of it. People are skint, unemployment is high, yet Manchester crams into the Kippax because you have to be part of it.

"But, no, stop. We can't have this." says Lord Justice-let's jump the gun and make a huge mistake-Taylor.

"Football isn't for standing up, shouting and singing your head off, bouncing and ballooning about, having a laugh, watching football while you get yourself get involved in the game. Standing will not create a buzz around you and makes you all feel together as one anymore!"

"Sit down, shut up. Football is for families."

Then just as we get a bit of buzz back into football.

Just as we start to enjoy ourselves at City again, even though it's not even a tenth as much as it should be.

MCC, GMP and City tell us we can't do this!

Quite frankly it stinks! I almost wish I were German.

Take a bow, top post, keep reminding the club.

I thought this must be a load of bollox and a wind-up but I've had the letter as well. However, you need to give PF some credit.

Strictly & legally speaking, no-one is allowed to stand persistently and the ground (or at least parts of it) could be shut if the Football Licencing Authority chose to enforce the law. However it's been recognised by the club that they can't really enforce it and they have taken a much more pragmatic approach in the last few seasons.

First it was the South Stand then 110/111. . It spread to 109 where I sit last season as more people moved to that end of the ground. However if you sit (stand?) in 109/110/111/116/117 then you should know what to expect and that is people will be standing. So I'd be surprised if there were a huge volume of complaints from those areas.

But City have to be seen to enforce the law and I've been present at discussions on the subject of standing and PF has said he will turn a blind eye but there are risks in that approach. If City are seen to be condoning it then they will get into trouble so they will make a tiken effort I imagine, in order to satisfy the authorities and things will go back to normal. So I would suggest people chill out and see this for what it is, which is effectively the club being seen to take a stand (no pun intended).

Of course the answer is to give people the choice as to whether they stand ior not and, if they choose to do so, do it in a way that reduces any inherent risks.

Im in 119 and got the letter. I will only sit down if the person behind me asks me nicely. I wont lose any sleep over a crap letter. H&S have to go thru the motions n I wont change for them cowards
Sadly (and quite obviously from the vile tone of some of the posts) someone behind someone illegally standing who asks them to sit down risks getting a different sort of response, as in "I'll do what I want" etc.

PF has no problem personally with standing, there have been no injuries caused by standing at Eastlands, but (a) it's illegal, and (b) if you don't want to stand or can't stand, why should you have to move because others stand in an all-seater stadium (and then give you abuse if you complain)? City have managed to get a blind eye turned by the licensing authority, but they can't let it just keep spreading.

Whilst I fully know it's actually a law that you're supposes to sit down at the footy, that law was brought in in a knee-jerk, jump-the-gun overreaction. Liverpool fans still don't want safe standing yet 12500 fans stand up every single game in the Kop. They are the reason for the problem, they argue against safe standing (which is far safer than standing with the seats as they are now) yet stand at every match.

If they can, everyone in the country can stand!

The thing is.

Why is it legal for concert goers to stand in the seated areas at COMS, dance standing up in front of their seats or on them, go into COMS clearly drunk, take drinks into the seated areas, get drugged up, get their tits out(Oasis), and bascially do what the f*** what they want?(it's rock and roll man!)

When issuing an entertainment licence do MCC take this into consideration? They must know it happens. If so, then by rights City fans should have no problems standing up at COMS. The lesser of two evils in my book.

Let's be honest. This 'illegall' shit about standing at football matches is a load of bollocks. I'll repeat. A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS!(Arrrgh! Arrrgh! Arrrrrrrrrrgh! Bollocks!) You, I, and everyone else knows it's a continued excuse to sanitise football and to subdue football fans in general. It's a hangover from the 80's and 90's that the football authorities and successive Governments are keen to maintain. They could'nt give a s*** about football fans, their views, beliefs and/or their wishes. (fingers in ears time once again)

Thankfully football fans have fought back. They started standing up and down the country years ago. One block at a time. Now it's whole stands. Eventually, but probably not in my lifetime, the rulers of football in this country, because that's what they are and are behaving like, will see sense and allow safe standing in certain stands of every football stadium.

Until then football fans must 'stand together' and put two fingers up to the Government, the football authorities and clubs who are not prepared to..........(fill in as appropriate)
