The tactical timeout from Donnarumma

Exactly. There are two things that we did in the game that I don't think should be allowed. Bernardo backing into their keeper for Gvardiol's goal, and the time-out fake injury. But they are allowed, and other teams (*cough* Arsenal *cough*) have been doing it regularly for ages. It's up to the lawmakers to deal with these things.

But yeah, the rank hypocrisy of it suddenly becoming a big story the second we do it isn't lost on me. It's the latest in a long line though, like 'time-wasting' from goalkeepers or the 'tactical fouls' from Fernandinho. Hell, perhaps we can use it to our advantage. Start taking 30-40 seconds over a long throw and it'll be banned in no time.
If the media wankers kick up enough of a stink they'll change the rules, just like they did when Rodri came from an offside position to win a tackle before passing to Bernardo to score against Villa.
Personally I think they should change the rules to stop players going to the bench to receive instructions when this happens but other teams Arsenal in particular have done this for years and I've seen plenty of teams do this against us without a peep of outrage so as far as yesterday is concerned I couldn't give a fuck and I think the cry arsing from that soon to be sacked again loser Farke and the usual City hating wankers in the media is fucking hilarious.

Now that we've done it, I suspect it'll be outlawed, so that's Arsenal fecked

Murphy had a reasonable suggestion on MOTD. If the keeper needs treatment, an outfield player has to do the 30 seconds off the pitch

No idea why people are getting touchy about Farke's comments. He is right, it's a sneaky, underhanded tactic that isnt welcome in the game. I bet every single person moaning about Farkes comments have said the exact same thing when Arsenal do it. Arteta is to blame for introducing it and deserves all the flack whenever any other side use it.

Did anybody notice who gave Donnarumma the nod to go down or was it pre planned during HT ?
Dias told him to do it. It wasn't even a "pretend you hurt your hamstring next time you kick it" kind of instruction either it was a blatant "sit on the floor and put your hand up" instruction.

I agree with the overall sentiment when it comes to "dark arts" bullshit, but this is the game until we're told otherwise. Its adapt or perish.

The first time we do it the media react like Donnarumma has shot Bambi.

I think it’s a cunts trick ti be honest and I hoped we were better than that.
If pep can’t sort the team out pre match and half time it’s on him.

It’s small time and I detest the likes of raya and Martinez when they do this.

I hope it’s not something we start to do on a regular basis.

Where is Ralph Hasenhüttl when you need him?

Could set your watch by it!!

A 2021-22 Premier League season analysis highlighted a pattern where Southampton players went down injured in 14 of their 24 games between the 60th-70th minutes, often allowing teammates to consume energy gels, etc… raising suspicions of tactical pauses under Ralph Hasenhüttl—but without pinpointing individual fixtures or verifying fakeness. Adam Armstrong was noted as the most frequent (four times),.

Potentially gave himself the nod

He's Italian, its the dark arts, and its what you get from someone who has been in pretty much every situation at every level

Its actually what we're missing more of tbh
If you can’t beat them join them, strange how it’s only highlighted when we do it an once again all
the procession and the most booked

In another thread I said that when players are ‘injured’ then no more than one player should be allowed within 10 yards of the technical area. Solves this bending of the rules in one simple stroke. But let’s not kid ourselves here, Ramsdale at Southampton and Arsenal, Martinez at Villa, Pickford, Raya, De Gea have all been doing this for many seasons without any uproar from the media. So why has what Donna did created such a furore?

Then it's up to the powers that be to change the rules.
It's been going on for years and used against us numerous times without a peep from anyone yet we do it and the outrage is off the scale.
Now it's been highlighted that we've done it, the rules will probably be changed, and if they are, it wouldn't be the first time.

The simple answer is because he plays for Manchester City.

Gone on for years, I don’t think we’ve ever been particularly guilty of this but hey ho. Arsenal have basically built a whole ethos around shit like this and the London centric media sycophants admiringly call it the ‘dark arts’. We do it and it’s national news for a couple of days. Fuck em.
To be fair, Donna is Italian and they invented it

Guardiola has made his feelings clear about this in the past, and we did just the same yesterday. Good for the goose.
Farke was then fielded a question that couldn’t really be answered any other way, and that has then given the English media their copy and fans something meaningless to froth over. Depressingly predictable.

It’s a stupid rule, like staying down for a supposed head knock and having the game halted when you’re really just disrupting the opponent’s rhythm…

That's just not true though. There has been widespread coverage over Arsenal doing it and complaints around it.

The Leeds manager highlighted it in his press conference, something he had every right to do and the media have commented on his words. This sense that we are being picked on for doing it is entirely in the heads of the posters claiming that is the case. If we adopt a shitty unsporting Arteta tactic then we should expect to be called out on it and cannot complain when that happens.

The outrageous is hysterical from the media, Farke has pulled a blinder of a distraction it has to be said.

The BBC headline says "City 'bend rules' to deny Leeds" - for fucks sake, we were winning at the time. We conceded the equaliser afterwards. So even if you believe that it could have an effect, it clearly didn't fucking work did it? What were they denied?
